Rogers selected as Class 1A Coach of the Year

The Nanih Waiya Warriors baseball team continues to receive accolades for their success this past season. The Mississippi Association of Coaches selected the Class 1A All- State Baseball Team for 2012. Taking the Class 1A Player of the Year was Nanih Waiya’s own Colby Eaves, while Head Coach Tyler Rogers was named Class 1A Coach of the Year. Rogers and his coaching staff brought the Warriors up to be a Class 1A powerhouse, and will be looking for big things next season. Under Rogers, the Warriors have been undefeated in division play for the last three seasons, and have an overall record of 61-24. The Warriors had team-high four players to make the All-State team, including Eaves. On the All-State 1st Team, infielder Luke Rosamond and outfielder Brandon Rigdon represented the Warriors. On the All-State 2nd Team, infielder Hunter Swart made up the list.
