Pastor Appreciation July 1, 3 p.m. Greensboro Church Family will be having Rev. Carl Swanigan Pastor Appreciation Program on July 1 at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Ronald Jefferson, Pastor of Rockport and Mount Hermon U.M. Church of Ackerman. The public is invited.

Revival Services July 1-3 Revival services will be held at Bethel M.B. Church on Crystal Ridge Rd. on July 1-3 beginning at 6 p.m. on July 1 and 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3. The guest speaker for this event will be Rev. Joe Shumaker, Pastor of Spring Hill M.B. Church in Louisville. The public is invited to attend.

The Dan-Azzilee McDonald Family July 1 reunion July 1, 2012 at Noon – The Dan-Azzilee McDonald Family will hold a reunion on July 1, 2012 at the Cleveland Community Center, old Cleveland School, on Highway 16 in Kemper County. Help spread the word to family members. Please bring food and drinks for pot luck lunch which will be served around noon. Come early and bring pictures and family memories to share with everyone. Wright Family Reunion July 7 The Edwards Wright-Katie Wright Bateman family will meet Saturday, July 7 at the Masonic Lodge at Preston for its annual reunion and chicken fry. The 2012 Tennis For Life Camp July 9 The 2012 Tennis For Life Camp will be held July 9-13, 08:30-10:00 am at Ivy Park Tennis Courts. This is a Christian tennis camp open to children ages 9-12. Each day will begin with prayer & a short Bible lesson, followed by a tennis lesson. There are slots open for a total of 20 students. VFW Meeting July 10 12 noon There will be a meeting at VFW Post 4540 on July 10 at 12 noon to discuss the sale of Post property. All members are urged to attend.

Louisville 2012 Softball League July 12 Louisville Softball League will be starting July 12. We will be having Co-ed Teams, Church League Teams, Men’s and Women’s Teams. LFD vs LPD July 14 The Louisville Fire Department and Louisville Police Department will host an Eating Competition at Luigi’s on 7/14. The two departments are also selling Hamburger Plates for sale for MS Burn Foundation contact Louisville Fire Department.

Revival June 15-18 Crystal Ridge Baptist Church will have a revival from July 15-18. July 15 at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m. The guest speaker is Evangelist Bill Bozeman. Everyone is invited.

Pastor and Wife Appreciation Program July 15 The Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church would like to invite the public to attend the 13th year Appreciation celebration of their Pastor and Wife ( Rev. Donald Bryant and Dr. Bryant) on July 15, 2012 at 3:00p.m. The guest speaker for the event will be Rev. Lavorn Murphy of St. Luke Church in Ackerman, MS. The public is welcome and invited to share with them on this program.

Ignite Music Workshop July 28 Ackerman Church of God will be hosting a Music Workshop, “Ignite” on Saturday, July 28, 2012 9AM-1PM. This workshop will “spark your passion and ignite your church”. This is open to all participants of the church Music & Media Departments. Various topics and sessions will be held including: Vocal techniques, maximizing the voulme of your choir and praise teams, praise bands and musicians, worship from a Pastor’s perspective, the worship-leading choir, sound and media in the small to medium churches. The cost is $10/person if you pre- register before Friday, June 29th, or you may pay $15/person at the door the day of the conference. A lunch is provided in the cost. Class of 1982 reunion set for Sept. 7 The Louisville Class of 1982 will be celebrating its 30th year Class Reunion the weekend of September 7, 2012. All 1982 Winston county high school graduates are invited to attend. There will be a planning meeting at 6:30 Thursday, May 10, 2012 at City Hall. Cotton Gin Festival Sept. 29, 2012 The Noxapater Community Alliance will host their annual Cotton Gin Festival on September 29, 2012. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. AA Meets Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. beginning the first week of January 2012 on the second floor of the community house. Meetings until then will still take place on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity items for sale Winston County Habitat for Humanity has signed Gail Pittman Christmas ornaments and plates for sale at the Silver Goose and Habitat cookbooks for sale at the Winston County Library.

The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project

The Winston County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. The meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at the MSU Extension Office in Louisville at 6pm and are open to everyone. Summer Feeding Program The Louisville Municipal School District will soon start their Summer Feeding Program, which provides free meals to all children 18 years of age and under (or persons 19 and over who are mentally or physically disabled and participating in a public or private nonprofit school program for the mentally or physically disabled.)

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m.—8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. at the follwing locations: Eiland Middle School, Monday—Friday, June 4-29. Nanih Waiya and Noxapater schools, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 16-26. Louisville High School, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 9-31.

Class of 1987 reunion upcoming The time has come to celebrate of the Louisville High School 25th reunion. The event is scheduled for Nov. 23,24, and 25 which is Thanksgiving weekend. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FEST on Sept. 29, held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before.

These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC. Check out the website for a peek of just a few of the artists.
