Fourth of July thoughts from the Pilot Club of Louisville

submitted by Gwynn Hall

The birth of America is something that has long been celebrated with patriotism and enthusiasm. The Fourth of July isn’t all about fireworks and barbecues. It’s also about freedom, liberty and the birthday of the United States of America. Let us not forget what the Fourth of July means for our country and the freedoms we are afforded here in America.

In celebration of our independence the Pilot Club of Louisville would like to share some inspiring quotes to help to remember and rekindle our patriotism.

“Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed – else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.” – Dwight D. Eisenhower “Freedom is never given, it is won.” – Anonymous “Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of the right choice.” – Anonymous “It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.” – Anonymous “In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt “May the sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, than this our own country!” – Daniel Webster “One flag, one land, one heart, one hand, One Nation ever more! “ – Oliver Wendell Holmes

Let us remember all of those who have fought and died for our freedom. Display your flag proudly. The Pilot Club of Louisville.
