JA Tasting Tea a success

By Angel Whitehead – Vice President Junior Auxiliary

The Junior Auxiliary of Louisville held their Annual Tasting Tea and Silent Auction April 21st at First United Methodist Church in Louisville. This event helped in raising the much needed funds for the continuing projects the local Junior Auxiliary organizes each year. We would like to say thank you to the local businesses and individuals who made donations to this event. Without you we would not have been able to make this finance project a success. The following businesses and individuals, listed in no specific order, made donations to our silent auction or monetary donations to help absorb some of the expenses of the event. Winston County Co-Op and Garden Center, Western Auto, Whitehead Automotive, Luigi’s, Melanie Yates (JA Lifetime Member), The Other Side, Just Teasin Boutique, Kathy’s Chicken Basket, Stephanie’s Shenanigan’s, Mi Rodeo, Something Special, Pro Nails, Wood’s Grocery, Charley McCool’s, Vowell Country One Stop, The Jewel Shoppe, Prisock Pro Clean, Fashion Boutique, Dr Nabers, Fringe Salon, K & W, Rebel Auto Parts, Bullock Toyota, Shasco, Auto Zone, Frazier’s, Pizza Hut, Richardson Car Wash, Just Because I Love You Gifts, Main Street Salon, The Silver Goose, Rustic Kitchen, Red Hills Fitness, Woody’s Stop N Shop, Ashley Luke (Crown Club Member), Back Porch Pottery, and The Taylor Group, Inc. The following local florist donated floral arrangements for our tables which were auctioned off at the end of the tea: Beverly’s Baskets, Uptown Lily, Fran’s Florist, Yarbrough Garden Center, and Jerry’s Florist. And as always, thanks to First United Methodist Church for letting us use your facility for this event.

“We would also like to say thank you to Debbie Smith, Shelly Thomas, and Samantha Dickerson for all of their hard work and dedication over the past five years to the Junior Auxiliary and the children of Winston County. The Tasting Tea and Silent Auction was their final finance project as active members of the Junior Auxiliary and they all did an outstanding job. They will be truly missed by our chapter.”

The Junior Auxiliary is dedicated in helping less fortunate children reach their full potential. Some of the other projects sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary are the Angel Tree Project at the Winston County Library along with Breakfast with Santa at Christmas and the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ivy Park. The Junior Auxiliary used some of the funds raised from finance projects to purchase playground equipment at Ivy Park.

“Thanks again to all of those who support your local Junior Auxiliary.”
