Concord Baptist Church 175th Anniversary August 12 Concord Baptist Church in Choctaw County will celebrate its 175th Anniversary on Sunday, August 12 from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The celebration will be all day with former pastors and State Representatives speaking, singing by The Reed Brothers and Joyful Noise and also dinner on the ground. Book signing set for Aug. 18 The Winston County Library will host a book signing by local author Frances Ball for her new book Front Porch Connection. The book gives stories and tidbits of her 75-years in Winston County. The signing will be held at the Winston County Library on Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $15.

CAPPS is back August 20 CAPPS, an after-school tutoring and homework assistance program, will begin August 20. Annual Adcock Reunion August 25 The family of the late Elzie and Ardella Adcock will be having their family reunion on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mollie Estes/ J. W. Young Park in Noxapater, MS located on HWY 15 South. They will begin gathering around 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Please bring pictures or anything that would be of interest to the other family members and share. Indian Springs Revival Aug. 26-31 Indian Springs Assembly of God will be in revival services August 26 – 31. Service times are Sunday 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. Guest evangelist will be Rev. Matthew Gros of Schriever, LA. There will be special singing each night. Cotton Gin Festival Sept. 29, 2012 The Noxapater Community Alliance will host their annual Cotton Gin Festival on September 29, 2012. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. AA Meets Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. beginning the first week of January 2012 on the second floor of the community house. Meetings until then will still take place on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m.

The Winston County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. Class of 1987 reunion upcoming The time has come to celebrate of the Louisville High School 25th reunion. The event is scheduled for Nov. 23,24, and 25 which is Thanksgiving weekend. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FEST on Sept. 29, held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before.

These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC.
