Blue Star Memorial Marker to be dedicated Friday, Nov. 9

The three Garden Clubs, Town and Country, Louisville and Winston will sponsor a Blue Star Memorial Marker.

On November 9, at 11:00 a.m., the ceremony will begin. The location is Highway 25 by-pass near the Exxon Station. This Marker will honor Veterans of all ages.

The program will include the LHS Band, The Color Guard and the National Anthem, song by Mrs. Mary Tabor.

Local Clergy, elected officials, State officials and Northern District Commissioner Mike Taggart will speak. A Fly-over featuring the P-5, Bombers will take place promptly at 11:15 a.m. The Public is invited to attend and particularly all Veterans. The Blue Star Memorial Marker is a project of the National Garden Clubs. The funding for them is done by the local Garden Clubs, which is quite a tribute to the three local clubs.

Mrs. Elaine Thompson has served as Coordinator for this event.
