Chancery Clerk Cunningham earns Winston Women of the Year

The Winston County Chamber of Commerce chooses a Man and Woman of the
Year each year and for 2012 Julie Cunningham earned that coveted award.

Cunningham, who is presently serving as Winston County Chancery Clerk
is highly involved in the community even while taking charge at the
Chancery Clerk’s office.

Cunningham who has been serving as Chancery since January 2012 has
began innovating office procedures and working on changing some of
the ways the office operated. Yet, she still found time to dedicate
herself to making the community better throught volunteerism.

Cunningham serves as a board member on the Boys and Girsl Club of
Winston County. She is the secretary and Board Member for the Winston
County Habitat for Humanity. She has relentless dedicated time to the
Relay for Life program in Winston County raising thousands of dolalrs
in the fight against cancer. As part of her fundraising efforts she
used her piano playing skills to sell her CDs for Relay. Her piano
playing skills have been honed as a Music Education Teacher for 22
years and a pianist for First Presbyterian Church of Louisville for
the past 27 years. She is an active Rotarian who volunteers as a
Rotary reading buddy at the local schools. She has also been
instrumental in raising funds for St. Jude’s Children Research
Hospital and the American Heart Association locally.

She is the wife of the late Stanley Cunningham and has three
children: Katie Cunningham Miller, Emily Cunningham, and Phillip
Cunningham.

She is the daughter of the late Mrs. Ethel Rone Brunt of Ackerman
and a 1976 graduate of Ackerman High School.
