Lady Tigers finish second in MHSAA Class 1A

The Noxapater girls track team continued its outstanding season, by
finishing second in the MHSAA Class 1A South State Track Meet held at
St. Andrew’s on Saturday.
“The girls have really worked hard this season,” said first-year head
coach Robert Johnson. “This is the first time in my three years of
working with the program, they have continued to work harder the next
week than they did the week before.”
In previous weeks the Lady Tigers won their third straight Division
5-1A and the 2013 Region 3-1A Championship.
The Lady Tigers will have nine members participating in eight
different events for the state championship meet at Pearl on Saturday.
Advancing from South State will be: Chelsea Moore, winning first
place in the shot put and discus; Kiera Phillips, placing second in
the triple jump and fourth in the 200 meter dash, Treasure Lynch
placing third in the triple jump; Margretta Bridgeman. placing third
in the 300 meter hurdles; Breanna Glass, placing fourth in the shot
put; Olivia McDonald, fourth in the 400 meters; and Deanna Sangster
fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. Also the 4×200 Relay team won first
place and the 4×100 Relay team placed second. The relay team members
are Aleaka Brown, Brittany Triplett, Phillips, Lynch, and Bridgeman.
