BrainMinders skit performed at local schools

by Theresa Bridges

Recently, the Pilot Club of Louisville performed The BrainMinders, a
skit on brain health, to second graders at Grace Christian School and
Noxapater Attendance Center. With the use of puppets, Pilot members
taught the students about boating safety, bike riding with a helmet,
kitchen safety, horse riding safety, and safety in the woods. An
activity book was given to every student to read and learn additional
facts.
Following the skit, one of the Pilot members demonstrated brain
safety by dropping an egg to the floor. As the children watched the
egg break into a million pieces, they were reminded of what happens
if you do not wear a helmet to protect your brain. At the conclusion
of the skit, a boy and a girl from each class were chosen to win a
new bicycle helmet.
