City traffic stop leads to drug bust

A traffic stop at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 lead to police seizing three quarters of a pound of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of cash, and seeking a subject who fled.

Officers identified the subject but withheld the name until an arrest could be made.

Along with the drugs and cash, drug paraphernalia was also confiscated including a set of scales.

Police plan on charging the person with felony possession and fleeing officers.

Chief of Police L.M. Claiborne urges citizens of Louisville to report any and all suspected drug activity in their area. Chief Claiborne added that the city of Louisville and Louisville Police Department will not tolerate drug activity in the community and will continue to make arrests.
