The Noxapater Tigers will open their 2013 football schedule with a pair of strong 2A squads, followed by one of the favorites to reach the MHSAA Class 1A State Championship Game.

After hosting Choctaw Central in a preseason jamboree game on Aug. 16, the Tigers make the trip to Webster County to take on perennial Class 2A power Eupora on Aug. 23 for the season-opener. The next week the Tigers play host to another strong 2A program in East Webster.

After having a bye week, Noxapater then plays host to French Camp Academy on Sept. 13. FCA played for the 1A state title in Jackson last season and is seen as one of the top contenders to return to the championship game.

The game with FCA kicks off a string of eight Region 3-1A contests, with the top four teams in the league qualifying for the MHSAA Class 1A State Playoffs.

The Tigers visit West Oktibbeha on Sept. 20 and host East Oktibbeha on Sept. 27. There is another open date on Oct. 4. That is where Weir was originally on the schedule before the school consolidated with Ackerman High School to form Choctaw County High School.

Noxapater then visits Pelahatchie on Oct. 11, before hosting Ethel on Oct. 18.

Thursday, Oct. 24 marks the date for the annual rivalry game with Nanih Waiya, which will be a road contest for the Tigers this season. Noxapater closes out the regular season with a Nov. 1 home game with Sebastopol and a Nov. 8 road trip to West Lowndes.
