Mrs. Agnes Boggan Blaine

Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Boggan Blaine, 99, were held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at South Union Methodist Church Arbor near Ackerman, MS. Reverend George Buell, Reverend Ed Saunders, and Reverend Bryan Carrubba officiated. Burial followed at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

A resident of Ackerman, MS, Mrs. Blaine was a Homemaker. She was also a member of South Union Methodist Church. Mrs. Blaine passed away at her home in Ackerman, MS on July 13, 2013.

Survivors include her sons, C.E. “Chuck” Blaine of Ackerman, MS; James Clyde “Bud” Blaine of Greenville, MS; Wade Blaine of Ackerman, MS; her daughter, Dorothy Faye Robin of Edmond, Oklahoma; 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Memorials may be made to South Union Cemetery Fund.

Mr. Gilbert Seward

Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert Seward were held 2 PM Monday, July 15, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Seward, 83, of the Spring Hill Community, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He served six years in the U.S. Army and 28 years in the National Guard. He was a member of V.F.W. and American Legion. Mr. Seward worked many years as an automotive mechanic. He was a member of Spring Hill Methodist Church.

Mr. Seward is survived by a son, Robert Winstead of Phila, MS; sisters, Evelyn Kidnocker of Philadelphia and Lottie Winstead of Philadelphia; brother, Rufus Seward of Philadelphia; (1) grandchild and (1) great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Gary Cox, Danny Sims, Dwight Bane, Arron Chunn, Thurman Chunn and Phil Winstead.

 

Ms. Kayla Rena Joe

Funeral services for Kayla Rena Joe were held at 2 PM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Nanih Waiya Mennonite Church with Rev. Glenn Myers and Rev. Duane Reinhart officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Miss. Joe, 24, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She enjoyed playing softball and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her sister, Karla Joe and brother, Michael Joe.

 

Mrs. Lottie Drexel McClure

Funeral services for Lottie Drexel McClure, 82, were held on July 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Chester Baptist Church near Ackerman with Rev. Rob Faulk and Rev. Danny Irvin officiating. Internment was held at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Mrs. McClure was a native of Choctaw County and a Church Secretary.

Survivors include husband, James McClure; sons, Larry and Terry McClure both of Ackerman, MS; sister, Carolyn Bright Norman of Clinton, MS; along with 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Emmajean Hackathorn Palone

Mrs. Emmajean Hackathorn Palone, 76, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at her home in Ackerman, MS. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 12th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Interment will be in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Palone was born November 23, 1936, in Canton, OH. She was a retired nurse’s aid; and a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church in Chester, MS.

She is survived by her sons, William Nelson of Louisville, MS, and John Nelson of North Canton, OH; step-sons, Frank McCleer of Greenville, SC, Rick McCleer of Tulsa, OK, and Tommy McCleer of Louisville, MS; step-daughters Pat Witten of Greenville, SC, Penelope Ann Palone of Phoenix, AZ, and Loretta Peery of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Nelson, Adam Nelson, Jessica Nelson, Samantha Nelson, Sarah Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Laura Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Elijah Nelson, Tess Nelson, and Grace Nelson; and great grandchildren, Angela Fishel, Abby Fishel, Allen Fishel, and Owen Sheridan. Mrs. Palone also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren from her marriage to Harold Palone.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William James Nelson and Harold Palone; her parents, Mildred Clark and Harold Hackathorn; brothers, Edward Hackathorn, William Hackathorn, and Ronald Hackathorn; and sisters, Evelyn Passwaters, and Kathy Miller.
