Infant Arthur Wayne Freeman, Jr.

Infant Arthur Wayne Freeman, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation was at Good Hope Baptist Church in Louisville, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 9 a.m. until service time.  Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Gross officiating.  Interment will be in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arthur Wayne was born on May 31, 2013, to Arthur Wayne Freeman, Sr., and Carol Ann Matthews Freeman of Louisville.  He is survived by three sisters, Helen Freeman, Katherine Freeman, and Jamie Freeman..  He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Helen Parker of Laurens, South Carolina; his paternal grandfather, Ronald D. Rogers of Louisville; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Renee Matthews; and maternal great-grandparents, Dwight and Carolyn Matthews all of Lexington, Mississippi.

Mrs. Dorothy B. Andrews

Mrs. Dorothy B. Andrews, 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, Mississippi.  Visitation was at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 10 until service time.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment was in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Andrews was born on September 27, 1933, to Earnest Lee and Patty Burton Box.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she was a retired guard at the Mississippi State Penitentiary.

Mrs. Andrews is survived by six sons, James Edwards, Allen Edwards, Morgan Glenn Murphy, all of Louisville, and Daniel Murphy of Walthall, Mississippi; Donnie Andrews of Kosciusko, Mississippi; and Chris Andrews of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Elaine Hodges of Starkville, Mississippi; and one brother, Shelby Box, of Columbus, Mississippi.  She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeff Edwards, Phillip Hankins, George Hodges, Donnie Bryant, and Blake Murphy.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, and Kameron Crowley.

Mrs. Ida Leo Adcock

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Leo Adcock were held at 2 PM Sat., July 20, 2013 at Bethlehem Pentecostal Church with Rev. Stacy Adcock officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Adcock, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Choctaw Residential Center. She lived in the Four Corners Community most of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Bethlehem Pentecostal Church in Winston County.

Mrs. Adcock is survived by her son, Dwain Adcock of Phila, MS and daughter, Taresa Graham, of Phila, MS; sister, Mary Murphy of Hurley, MS; brothers, Joe Pettie of Rock Island, IL, Robert Lee Pettie of Kosciusko, MS & Charles Pettie of Kosciusko, MS; and eight grandchildren; (12) great-grandchildren, (2) great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brian Thompson, Tyler Adcock, Lanoy Adcock, Lyndell Adcock, Doyle Adcock and Landon Smith.

 

Ms. Mavis Gibson Smith

Funeral services for Ms. Mavis Gibson Smith were held at 11 AM Friday, July 19, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens & George Sciple officiating. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Mavis Gibson Smith, 65, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was a resident of Kemper County where she lived most of her life. She retired from Richardson Molding after 25 years of service. She was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Ms. Smith is survived by her daughters, Wendy Smith Moore of Phila, MS, Kim Smith Page of Union, MS, Melinda Smith Gilmer of Little Rock, MS and Mallory Smith Moorehead of Phila, MS; sons, Terry Lee Smith of Phila, MS and SGT. Tyson Ruffin Smith of Jacksonville, NC; her children’s father, Butch Smith of Dekalb, MS; sisters, Linda Gibson Beckham of Phila, MS and Avis Gibson Luke of Phila, MS; several nieces & nephews; (9) grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Larry Moore, Kerry Gilmer, Joe Page, Richard Beckham, Colby Horton, Cooper Smith & Walker Smith.

 

Ms. Rhonda Carol Ashmore

Funeral services for Ms. Rhonda Carol Ashmore were held at 1 PM Mon., July 22, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Ashmore, 44, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She lived in Noxapater, MS most of her life. She was a licensed practical nurse. Ms. Ashmore was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Genieva Orr of Noxapater, MS; son, Bo Jack Vanlandingham of Noxapater, MS; brothers, Sidney Earl Ashmore of Noxapater, MS and Randall Atley Orr of Noxapater, MS.

Pallbearers was Sam Reed, Adam Reed, Matthew Reed, Isaac Goforth, Freddy Thomas, Brent Manning, Bruce Manning, Rayford Manning & James Howard.

 

Mr. Elbert Ferrion “Pud” McNeece

Funeral services for Mr. Elbert Ferrion “Pud” McNeece will be held at 10 AM Wed., July 24, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia, MS.

The service will be officiated by Rev. Bill Webb, assisted by Rev. Kermit Sharp and Rev. George Smith. Burial will be at Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia. Visitation was 6-8 PM Tues., July 23, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services.

Mr. McNeece, 88, of Meridian died Saturday at his residence. He was born in Madden, MS but spent most of his life in Meridian. He was married to his loving wife, Madie McNeece, for 47 years. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

At the age of 17 “Pud” joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CC Camp) for a year. He was proud to have served his country during World War II aboard the USS Lyman (DE302) and enjoyed reunions with his fellow shipmates. He retired from Air Comfort Engineering Company in 1987 after 40 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Chisolm of Cashiers, NC, Judi Nutt of Collinsville and Bettye Perkins of Meridian, Six grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Chris Nutt, Scott Miles, Dilan Miles, Jake Gritzmacher, Hank Perkins & Josh Perkins.

 

Mr. Freddie Frank McGee

Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Frank McGee will be held at 2 pm Wed., July 24, 2013 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Scott Boatner & Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Edinburg. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McGee, 52, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He was born on October 15, 1960 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He married Elizabeth Tucker on December 27, 1995. He was a subcontractor for BellSouth Communication. Mr. He was a member of West Philadelphia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McGee;daughters, Brandi Beemon, Jessie Hunter; son, Jonathan McGee; sister, Suzanne Parker; brothers, Teddy McGee, Jeff McGee, Keith McGee and Tim McGee all of Philadelphia; (2) grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers are Eric McGee, Brewer McGee, Tanner McGee, Matt Boyd, Kody Bailey, Dustin Rhodes, Shannon Rhodes & A.J. Furr.

 

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Norton

Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Ann Norton, age 68, were held at Brushford M.B. Church in Macon, MS on July 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Reverent Robert Avant officiated. Burial followed at Ruth Cemetery.

A resident of Macon, MS, Mrs. Norton was a member of Brushford M.B. Church. She passed away at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS on July 10, 2013.

Survivors include her daughters, Alessandra Cornelia Norton and Jacqueline Ann Norton, both of Louisville, MS, and Denis Myrick of Jackson, MS; her son, Michael Leon Norton of Louisville, MS; her sisters, Daisy Robinson, Marie Davis, Elzenia Lampley, Mary Anderson, all of Youngstown, OH, Dorothy Johnson of Louisville, MS, and Janice Hood of Chicago, IL; her brothers, William Van Hunt of Detroit, MI, and Roger Hunt of Louisville, MS; as well as four Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
