Mr. Jerry Agent

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Agent were held at 2 PM Friday, July 26, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Burial was in Old Pearl Valley Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangments.

Mr. Agent, 58, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He was a pipefitter and welder. Mr. Agent was a member of Old Pearl Valley Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Brandy McCoy of Philadelphia, Keena Stewart of Philadelphia; son, Jarrod Agent of Philadelphia; sisters, Judy Alford of Soso, Rhonda Rice of Philadelphia, Janet Sasser of Philadelphia and Tammie Ryan of Philadelphia; brother, Charlie Agent of Lucedale; (4) grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jay Eakes, Len Ryan Jr. Chris Agent, Jamie Agent, Wesley Agent, Devin McCoy & Lane Stewart.

 

Jaylen Jones

Funeral services for Jaylen Jones, age 3, were held at Unity M.B. Church on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Minister Tom Robinson officiated. Burial followed at Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Born in Starkville, MS, Ms. Jones passed away on July 19, 2013 in Jackson, MS.

Survivors include her father, Lacorey Triplett, and mother, Sudie Jones, both of Louisville, MS; her sisters, Nykerria Triplett, Lacoriyana Triplett, and Lakayla Glover, all of Louisville, MS; her brothers, Cameron Davis, Braylen Jones, Trent Davis, Traveion Jones, Cameron Davis, and Lajarred Glover, all of Louisville, MS; her four uncles, grandfather, four aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Mrs. Minnie Susan Kyles

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Susan Kyles, age 64, were held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Burial followed at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

A resident of Choctaw County, MS, Mrs. Kyles was of the Baptist religion. Mrs. Kyles died on July 26, 2013 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Survivors include her son, Brian Kyles; her daughter, Rebecca Oswalt; her brother, Howard Crowley; and her sister, Margaret Kent, all of Ackerman, MS; and her three Grandchildren.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mr. James Howard Lee

Funeral services for Mr. James Howard Lee, age 46, were held at Bethsalem M.B. Church in Reform, MS on July 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gregory Wise officiated.

Born in Ackerman, MS, Mr. Lee was a laborer. He was also a member of Bethsalem M.B. Church in Reform, MS. Mr. Lee died on July 17, 2013 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Survivors include his wife, Opelean Lee; daughter, Genetta Gaston, and two stepdaughters, Carolyn Goodman and Stephanie Owens; his sons, Marcus Gore, Derrick Gaston, and Tryveon Smith; his two stepsons, Alphonso Childress and Jimmy Owens; his sisters, Willie Jean Kenney-Fairley, Emily Bedford, and Cindy Bell; his brothers, Gregory Wise, Shirley Lee, Larry Kennedy, and William Wiss; his Stepmother, Eula Lee, twelve grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Icy Lee Matthews

Funeral services for Mrs. Icy Lee Mathews, age 85, were held at Mt. Pleasant #2 M.B. Church in Noxapater on July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Curtis Johnson officiated.

A resident of Noxapater, MS, Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker. She was also a member of Mount Pleasant #2 M.B. Church in Noxapater, MS. Mrs. Matthews passed away on July 18, 2013 at her home in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Ann Young Beasley of Noxapter, MS, stepdaughter Cassandra Galloway of Wiggins, MS; her three stepsons, Sedrick Young of Noxapater, MS, Frederick Young of Laurel, MS, and Roderick Young of Philadelphia, MS; her sisters, Ordeane Diggs of Oak Park, MI, and Bessie Matthews of Brownston, MI; and her brother, Elijah Rash of Chester, PA; 19 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Larry Eugene Ray

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Eugene Ray were held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman, MS. Reverend Danny Irvin and Reverend Roy Hawkins officiated. Burial followed at Salem Independent Church Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

A resident of Ackerman, Mr. Ray was a carpenter. He was also a member of Ackerman Baptist Church. Mr. Ray died on July 27, 2013 in Bruce, MS.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Butler Ray, of Ackerman, MS; his sons, Michael Fulgham of Columbus, MS and Taylor Ray of Birmingham, AL; his daughters, Christy Harill of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alana Ray of Starkville, MS, and Marlana Ray of Starkville, MS; his brother, Lamar Ray of Oxford, MS; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery Fund and/or Gideons International.
