Local participates in Ladies Football event at MSU

From staff reports

Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen and his staff hosted the 2013 Ladies Football Clinic on Saturday, July 20, and about 100 attended.

Among those attending was Winston County’s Bonnie Fulton. She noted that the women in attendance varied from the very young to an 87 year–old.

“It was fun,” Fulton said. “It was a day of learning the techniques and strategies of the game along with types of plays along with how many pieces of equipment are under the uniform.”

The clinic began with registration followed by coaching and interaction with Mullen, assistant coaches and players. Former Coach Rocky Felker also spoke. There was also a question-and-answer sessions with Megan Mullen and other coaches’ wives, current coaches and players. Participating ladies also received on-field instruction and a behind-the-scenes look at the locker room and other football facilities.

“Many of the ladies got to run out onto the field like the players do,” said Fulton.
