Annual County-wide Tailgate event a success

Downtown merchants, Winston County Chamber of Commerce and the four high school football teams in the county kicked off the football season with a well attended tailgate event.

The event included all the Winston County Football Teams. Louisville, Noxapater, Nanih Waiya and Winston Academy introduced their coaches, football teams and cheerleaders for the upcoming season. Each schools’ cheerleaders also performed a routine.

The event also included a quarterback passing contest with Wyatt Roberts of LHS winning and a Oreo eating contest between one cheerleader from each school. Noxapater Cheer squad won the event. The North Gate Cinema moves tickets for the contest were courtesy of John and Carol Clark

In addition to the tailgate event merchants were on hand and donated for cash prizes to be awarded during the event to lucky students. The cash prizes were compliments of the following merchants :  Market Café, The Jewel Shoppe, Becky’s Antiques, Just Teasin’, Uptown Lily at the Framin Shoppe, Mainly Music, The Silver Goose and Alderwoman Frances Ball, Brian Sims and the Winston County Chamber of Commerce/Main Street.
