Mrs. Sidney Joanne Stephenson

Funeral Services for Mrs. Stephenson ,76, was held Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Weir. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.

Mrs. Stephenson was a housewife. She was born in Choctaw County on November 27, 1936 and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Weir, MS. She died Sunday August 25, 2013 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.

She is survived by her son, Joey Stephenson of Ackerman, MS, one daughter Angel Harbin of Tupelo, MS and a sister Dot Wear of Ackerman; one aunt and four grandchildren

Mr. Ross McKinion

Funeral services for Mr. Ross McKinion were held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Stephenstown Community. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKinion, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. He lived in the Beatline Community most of his life. He was a retired dirt contractor. He was a member of Beatline Baptist Church.

Mr. McKinion is survived by his wife, Gjawan McKinion of Phila, MS; numerous nieces and nephews, their families and friends.

Pallbearers were Lee Foxhall, Gordan Crane, Keith McCrory, Danny McKinion, Ricky McKinion, Donald Chunn, Austin Gray & Danny (Dink) McKinion.

Ms. Nell “Granny” Mason

Funeral services for Ms. Nell “Granny” Mason were held at 11 AM Thursday, August 22, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Steve Craft and Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Spanish Oak Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Mason, 70, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She worked at Harold’s Short Stop, Neshoba County Coliseum and drove bus #9 for 14 years for the Neshoba County School System.

Ms. Mason is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Nell Beckham of Phila, Ginger Cumberland of Phila; son, Bubba Stokes of Phila; sisters, Bonnie White of Newton and Kay Bynum of Meridian; brothers, Jim Pearson of San Antonio, TX and Bobby Pearson of Quitman; (6) grandchildren; (4) great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Sandy Joe Irons, Michael Thomas, Belon Howington, Ray Lilly, Shane Griffin and Timmy Bozeman.

Funeral services for Mr. Hebert Ray Bragg, 70, were held Thursday August 8, 2013 at in Pontiac MI with burial following in Southfield MI. Reverend John Tolbert officiating.

Mr. Eiland Sr. was born in Louisville March 1, 1943. He graduated in 1965 and began his music teaching career in Philadelphia, MS. In 1967, Mr. Eiland moved to Detroit was retired from Detroit Public Schools in 2005 after 37 years of service and was a member Metro Brass Ensemble.

Survivors are one daughter; Lillian Hunt of Louisville KY; three sons; Thomas Eiland, Jr of Dallas TX, Jamarl L. Eiland of Southfield, MI and Douglass Eiland of Southfield, MI. four sisters, Edna Pearl Avery, Ruth Bell Eiland, Idella Sanders, Larry Sue Taylor, nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews., cousins and friends

Mr. Hebert Ray Bragg

Funeral services for Mr. Hebert Ray Bragg, 75, were held Saturday August 24, 2013 at Warren Chapel C. O. G. I. C. Louisville MS. Elder Marcus Smith officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Garden Cemetery.

A native of Winston County Mr. Bragg was retired from Georgia Pacific and was a member of Warren Chapel C. O. G. I. C

He was born August 13, 1938 in Winston County and died at OCH regional Hospital in Starkville on Tuesday August 20, 2013

Survivors are four daughters; Patricia Austin and Linda Coleman of Louisville, Deborah Floyd and Janice Brown of Arlington, Texas; two sons; Micheal Jerome Bragg of Atlanta, GA, Kenny Ray Bragg of Louisville. Two sisters, Allene Hopkins of East St. Louis and Martha Lou Triplett of Louisville; one brother Lawrence Norwood of New York, one grandchild and an abundance of great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
