 Ms. Charlotte Lynn Moore

Funeral services for Ms. Charlotte Lynn Moore was held at 10 am Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Danny Chaney and Jerry Wilson officiating and graveside was Rev. John Stephens. Interment was in Bethsaida Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Moore, 47,  passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She lived in Union, MS most of her life. Her occupation was in retail sales. Ms. Moore was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

Ms. Moore is survived by her brother, William Moore of Phila, MS; aunts, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Robert L. Stevenson,  Larry Anderson, Mike Rayburn, Jonathan Moore, Prentice Anderson, Wayne Anderson and David Estes.

 

Mr. Milton Thomas

Services for Milton Thomas were held Friday, September 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. from Zion Chapel Pentecostal Church in Louisville with Rev. Dewayne Kelsey officiating. Burial followed in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomas, 54, of Noxapater, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at his home.

He was a native of Morton and had been a resident of Winston County since 1987.  He was a retired truck driver.  Mr. Thomas was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Winston County.

Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Mayo of Kosciusko; one granddaughter, mother, Jessie Mae Thomas of Philadelphia; sister, Mary Ann Nutt of Kemper County; brother, Walter Jack Thomas of Noxapater; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Mayo, John Bailey, Michael Thomas, Chris Thomas, Jason Garrard, and Danny Sullivan.

The family requests donations be made toward funeral expenses.

 

Mrs. Maxine Willis

Funeral services for Mrs. Maxine Willis was held at 2 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Elder Stan Jones officiating. Burial was in Donald Rest Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Willis, 65, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was a member of Friendship M.B. Church. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents, M. C. Campbell and Berdie Mae McDonald Campbell; brother, Robert Earl Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Lee Willis of Philadelphia, MS; daughter, Keshia Willis of Philadelphia, MS; sisters, Ollie McKenzie of Collinsville, MS and Edna Ghoston of House, MS; brothers, M. C. Campbell, Jr., of Philadelphia, MS, Hosey Campbell of Union, MS, Ray Charles Campbell of Meridian, MS, David Campbell of LA and Jimmy Wayne Campbell of Kemper Co., MS; 2 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Gary E. Lauderdale

Mr. Gary E. Lauderdale, 67, of Noxapater, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in Sunflower County, MS. Graveside services were held at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 26, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Noxapater, with Rev. James Dearing officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lauderdale was born October 10, 1945, in Coahoma County, Mississippi. He was a retired truck driver, and was a member of Union Ridge Baptist Church.

Ms. Betty F. Johnson

Funeral services for Ms. Betty F. Johnson were held at 2 pm Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Don Cook officiating. Interment was in Greenland Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Johnson, 74, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Hilltop Manor Nursing Home in Union, MS. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of God.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her sister, Bobbie Barnes of Carthage, MS & brother, Ronnie Nichols of West, MS; several nieces and nephews.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

 

Mrs. Maurice Malone Hillhouse

Funeral services for Maurice Malone Hillhouse, 79, were held on September 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church near Maben. Interment will follow in the Wake Forest Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hillhouse was born on December 18, 1933 in Oktibbeha County. She was a cashier for Wal-Mart and was also a member of Center Grove Baptist Church near Maben, MS.

Mrs. Hillhouse is survived by her husband, Edward Hillhouse of Maben, MS; daughter, Linda Hill of Spring Hill, TN, brothers, Bill Malone of Sturgis, MS and Doyle Malone of Birmingham, AL and two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr. Brewster Coleman

Graveside Services for Mr. Brewster Coleman, 85, were held Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Memorial Garden at 12:00 noon, with burial following in Memorial Garden.

Mr. Coleman was a born in Meridian MS May 14, 1928 and died Friday September 13, 2013 at his home. He was a veteran of WWII.

He is survived by a sister; Rosa Lee Willis of Loma Linda, CA and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Triplett was a born in Louisville February 5, 1953 and died Friday September 20, 2013 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. She was a laborer

Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Jr. Carter, 70, were held at Beck Funeral Home of Louisville. Officiating was Dr. Willie J. Coleman, Jr. He was cremated.

Mr. Carter was a born in Louisville July 1, 1953 and died Sunday September 22, 2013 at Winston Medical Center in Louisville. He was a laborer.

He is survived by his two sisters Mary L. Carter of Ruleville, MS and Shelly Osburn of Chicago IL; one brother Jerry W. Carter of Louisville and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
