Plans in the works for Thanksgiving Luncheon Nov 28

From press reports

Plans are in process for the 12th Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon to be held at South Louisville Baptist Church Family Life Center on Thanksgiving Day.

“I would like to thanks each of you who supported me with your finances, volunteered services, words of encouragement, but most of all your prayers for the past eleven years. With your help we have served over 10,000 meals,” said coordinator Aline Haynes.

Churches should begin receiving sign-in packages this week and throughout the next week.

Volunteers may begin signing up on October 28. High school and college students will receive community service hours for volunteering.

“If you need extra hours I need help getting things prepared behind the scene,” said Haynes.

These hours will be granted on first come first serve basic.

“Please encourage youth and children to come out and be a part of learning what it means to be a servant to those in need,” added Haynes.

All shifts will remain the same as last year.

Devotion and opening statements will begin at 10:20 a.m.

“We extend and invitation to all Ministers and Evangelist to share in our devotion. I’m asking for your prayers that God will give me the strength to succeed this year,” said Haynes.
