Eichelberger celebrates 95

Betsy Ann Eichelberger celebrated her 95th birthday with family and friends at the Soul 2 Soul Restaurant (formerly known as JR’s) on October 20, 2013. Her actual birthday was on October 22. During the celebration she expressed her gratitude to her children for caring for her and especially to Gwendolyn Eichelberger who lives with her and is her main caregiver.

Mrs. Eichelberger is still an active member at Mt. Sinai MB Church and in the community.

She loves to read and share what she reads with family and visitors in her home. She is a card carrying member of the Winston County Library. She enjoys making the telephone calls to remind Friends of Dean Park, Inc.(FODP) members of their monthly meetings and of special events. She is one of the founding members of the FODP and feels so proud to be a part of the ongoing renovation of Dean Park as its senior member. She is thrilled that all of her children are playing a major role at Dean Park also. They grew up participating in 4-H Club activities with county agent, Mr. Milton E. Dean at the park She is the mother of Claudell Weaver, Elmetra Patterson (Eddie Littleton), Mattie Davis (Melvin), Samuel Eichelberger, Janice Hopkins (Tommy Ray), Barbara Coleman (Tommy), Gwendolyn Eichelberger, Paul (Rita), Clifford Eichelberger (Nancy), Clifton Eichelberger (Georgia) and Lorenda Eichelberger.

Since her celebration, the Soul 2 Soul Restaurant has been destroyed by fire. Mrs. Eichelberger wishes to express her sincere sympathy to the owner, Shanta Foster and the Perry Family for the lost of their new business. She said she hopes they can open again in the near future.
