Fair Elementary recently held a Mixed Bag fundraiser. Prizes were awarded to those students who sold the largest dollar amount in Mixed Bags. One class was also awarded a pizza party for raising the highest dollar amount and having turned all of their orders in on time. Here is a list of the top sellers for the Mixed Bag fundraiser:

1st prize of $50 cash – Tucker McKenzie

2nd prize of $25 cash – Brylee Weems

3rd prize of $25 cash was a tie between – Tyler Glass /Allen Landrum

Students who sold 10 or more bags each had their name placed in a drawing for a Walmart gift card. The winner of the Walmart gift card was Jaylon Haynes. Mrs. Collier’s first grade class won the pizza party for selling the most in dollar amount and having all of their orders turned in on time. Mrs. Collier won a bag for having the class that sold the most in dollar amount. Thank you for all of your hard work and support to help make this fundraiser a success.

Fair Elementary held a Reading Fair on October 22nd for the 2013-2014 school year. The winners of the Reading Fair are as follows:

Kindergarten Division A – NO ENTRIES

First Grade Division B – 1st place – Reed Yates – Metal Man

2nd place – Anderson Chamblee – Charlie

3rd place – Chawan Jernigan – Green Eggs and Ham

Second Grade Division C – 1st place – Tyler Tucker – Charlotte’s Web

2nd place – Dayveun Moore – Arthur and the True Francine

3rd place – Bailey Harris – If I Were A Fish

Group/Family Division K – 1st place – Zo’Ryah Hunt – Goldilocks and the Three Bears

2nd place – Brelyn Harris – May I Go Out

Mrs. McKenzie’s class is celebrating fall…pumpkin style. This year at Fair Elementary, Mrs. McKenzie’s class created pumpkins to look just like famous characters from storybooks. The students chose one of their favorite fiction stories to do their pumpkin book report on. The pumpkin was created to resemble the MAIN character in their book. The students also created a bag to resemble the front cover of their book. Story elements were cut out, colored, written on, and placed inside the decorated story bags. The students were also required to present their book report to the class.
