Bible event seeks volunteers

From staff reports

Many would say that the Bible is the “most popular book in all of America,” yet Tommie J Wylie feels many may not have one to read.

“You would think that everyone would have a Bible at home,” said Wylie. “Yet many do not.”

With this in mind, Wylie aims to hand out New Testament Bibles December 13 and 20 in Winston County.

In order to distribute the pocket Bibles, Wylie seeks volunteers to help pass out the Bibles. A table will be set up at the entrance of Wal-Mart outside at 11:30 AM on both dates to plan out the Bible giveaway. The Bible giveaway will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on December 13 and 20 in Winston County.

New Testament Bibles will be handed out at Wal-Mart, Vowell’s Market Place, Cash Saver, Dirt Cheap, and Fred’s Dollar Store from 12-1 p.m.  Volunteers are needed to help pass out Bibles.  The public is encouraged to get involved.

“We want the people in the county to know that people still do mission here in the county and they can be a part of mission work,” said Wylie.
