New Zion Missionary Baptist Church will observe the 22nd Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. W. L. Hightower on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Charles Brown of Starkville, MS as guest speaker. Everyone is cordially invited to come and share in this joyous celebration.

Christmas musical event Dec. 1

The Noxapater Baptist Church will host ‘The Joy of Christmas’ on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.

The program will include the Clarke Venable Baptist Church Worship Choir and Orchestra, the student choir, inside and out choir and the PraiseMakers Choir. Billy K. Williams serves as teh CVBC minister of music.

Founders Day Celebration at Holy Ghost Temple Dec. 1

On Sunday, December 1, 2013, 2:30 p.m., the Holy Ghost Temple, 128 Hill Street, Louisville, MS, will host a celebration in memory of Rev. Charles L. Guyse. Rev. Guyse founded the Holy Ghost Temple in 2000, where he remained faithful until his death November 17, 2012. He preached his last sermon on October 21, 2012. Rev. Guyse was ordained on August 12, 1956 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, IL. The Founders Day Celebration will consist of refreshments.

Organizing meeting for Democrat women’s club Dec. 3

There will be a meeting to organize a Democrat Women’s Club in Winston County on Tuesday December 3, 2013. The meeting will be held at the Winston County Public Library in the meeting room at 6:00 PM. The main purpose of this meeting is to appoint a nominating committee which will select a roster of names to be considered for club officers. The meeting is open to any woman in the county who want to become a part of this group and work toward the common goals of the group and those of the Democratic Party overall. We hope to work closely with the local Democratic Committee and encourage member s of that committee to please come and join us. Greensboro C. M. E. Church Family and Rev. Carl Swanigan will be having a Christmas Program on 2nd Sunday, December 8 at 5:00 P.M. The guest speaker will be Pastor Otra Rocket of St John M. B. Pleasant Ridge to honor pastor Glass Dec. 8

Men’s Day set for Dec. 8

Holiday Open House Dec. 12

Holiday Open House & Santa is Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 until 6:00pm at the Choctaw County Library.  Bring your camera and take pictures with Santa. Other events for the day include MSU ice cream samples, make and take crafts for kids, Festival of Trees, musical entertainment throughout the day, recipes, goodie bags, and door prizes. Area authors will have their new books available. Whitney White’s new book, Who Left Jesus in the Box, just came out in November and signed copies will be available for purchase. Merle Temple will be present to sign copies of his book,  A Ghostly Shade of Pale. Bring non-perishable food items and help us Pack-the-Trailer for the WTVA Food for Families Food Drive which will benefit Broken Wings Ministries. WTVA Food For Families Food Drive Dec. 12

Broken Wings Ministries will benefit from the annual WTVA Food for Families Food Drive. For the second year, we will have a Pack-The-Trailer event Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 – 6:00pm at the Choctaw County Library during Holiday Open House.  Bring non-perishable food items and help us pack a trailer full of food for Broken Wings! Soup and coat event Dec. 14

The Women’s Ministry of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church will host a Soup and Coat give away on Saturday December 14, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the old Union Hall located on Highway 397 South. We will give away coats of All sizes for both adults and children. If anyone has coats that they would like to donate, please call either of the following individuals . La Leche League of Louisville

La Leche League of Louisville meets monthly on the 4th Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the County Extension Building. La Leche League offers mother-to-mother support, leaders accredited by La Leche League International, latest breastfeeding information, 24-hour telephone help, and lending library. Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the community house. .

The Winston County Paparazzi on fourth Thurs of each month

The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. The meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at the MSU Extension Office in Louisville at 6pm.
