Louisville prepares for holidays with Christmas lights

From staff reports

Recently, the City of Louisville, community volunteers, Louisville Utilities began placing Christmas decorations and lights across the community in all available public spaces.

The Winston County Economic Development Partnership purchased the Christmas lights and decorations from the former “Baker’s Acres” Christmas display.

City workers along with volunteers organized the decorations and lights as they planned the best way to get as much as possible of the Christmas decorations out into the public spaces of the community.

The Chamber hopes to promote visitors to Winston County to see the Christmas lights and decorations and build upon each year as well as receive donations for recouping the initial costs and paying for maintenance of the lights and decorations

Anyone who would like to contribute to lighting fund can mail donations to: Winston County Chamber of Commerce 311 W. Park St., Louisville MS 39339 or for more information on the project contact 662-773-8719.

The Louisville Christmas lights display in downtown is ongoing until Christmas and has already drawn driving tours of the displays and lights.
