December is “Accelerated Reader/ Renaissance Connect month at the Family Center. The workshop will inform parents about the Accelerated Readers Program and how to use the Renaissance Connect website. Librarians form various school in the Louisville Municipal School District will provide information on how to access this link and navigate the tools on “Renaissance Connect.”

The Retired Educational Personnel will hold their annual Christmas luncheon December 5, 2013 at Lake Tiak O Khata starting at 11 AM. All members are invited for food and fellowship.

program Dec. 8

Greensboro C. M. E. Church Family and Rev. Carl Swanigan will be having a Christmas Program on 2nd Sunday, December 8 at 5:00 P.M. The guest speaker will be Pastor Otra Rocket of St John M. B. Church, Columbus, MS The groups will be the Mighty Disciples and the Gospelations. Come and be blesses because Christ is the reason for the season. The public is invited.

Pleasant Ridge to honor pastor Glass Dec. 8

Pleasant Ridge Church fmaily will host an Appreciation celebration for Pastor Joe B. Glass on Sunday , Dec. 8 for a fourth anniversary celebration. Guest minister for the event will be Rev. L.B. Hathorn Jr. of Lexington.

Men’s Day set for Dec. 8

Elder Ronnie L. Paige, Pastor and the Men’s Department of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ cordially invites all to attend the annual “Men’s Day” program to be held on the 2nd Sunday, December 08, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. The speaker for this great event will be Rev. W. L. Hightower of New Zion M.B. Church of Louisville, MS.   Special musical guest will be the New Zion Male Choir. Come and help us lift up the name of Jesus through an anointed spoken word and inspired gospel singing followed by a delicious meal in the fellowship hall. Louisville Parade set for Dec. 9 at 5:30p.m.

The Christmas Parade Theme for 2013 will be “An All American Christmas”  Everyone is encouraged to decorate thier businesses and create a float in the parade which is set for:  December 9 – Christmas Parade 5:30

Annual meeting Dec. 10

HighPoint Water Association annual meeting will be December 10, 2013 at 7:00 o’clock in the Annex Building of the Courthouse.

Seniors to meet Dec. 10

Red Hill Senior Citizens will meet December 10, at the Louisville Coliseum fro 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Please bring a covered dish. There will be a guest, sings, and games.

AARP to meet Dec. 11

Winston County area AARP Chapter #2859 will have their December 11 meeting at Mt Sinai M. B. Church at 11 A.M. Members are asked to bring a covered dish and a $5 gift to be exchanged. Thanking you in advance. Come and enjoy.

Holiday Open House Dec. 12

Holiday Open House & Santa is Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 until 6:00pm at the Choctaw County Library.  Bring your camera and take pictures with Santa. Other events for the day include MSU ice cream samples, make and take crafts for kids, Festival of Trees, musical entertainment throughout the day, recipes, goodie bags, and door prizes. Area authors will have their new books available. Whitney White’s new book, Who Left Jesus in the Box, just came out in November and signed copies will be available for purchase. Merle Temple will be present to sign copies of his book,  A Ghostly Shade of Pale. Bring non-perishable food items and help us Pack-the-Trailer for the WTVA Food for Families Food Drive which will benefit Broken Wings Ministries. WTVA Food For Families Food Drive Dec. 12

Broken Wings Ministries will benefit from the annual WTVA Food for Families Food Drive. For the second year, we will have a Pack-The-Trailer event Thursday, December 12 from 2:30 – 6:00pm at the Choctaw County Library during Holiday Open House.  Bring non-perishable food items and help us pack a trailer full of food for Broken Wings! LHS class to host fun night Dec. 12

The Louisville High School Consumer Education Classes will host a night of fun, and creativity Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 6:30 P.M. in the LHS Auditorium. The classes will display the knowledge they have acquired this sememster. The voices of Faith Music Ministry which consist of members of SADD and BETA Club will present in song a play entitled Two Roads…..One Destiny. Starkville High School will the special guest for the evening. If you are interested in a treat, pay the admission of $3 and enjoy an amazing night.

Soup and coat event Dec. 14

The Women’s Ministry of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church will host a Soup and Coat give away on Saturday December 14, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the old Union Hall located on Highway 397 South. We will give away coats of All sizes for both adults and children. If anyone has coats that they would like to donate, please call either of the following individuals . Evangelist Essie Jackson at 662-736-3500; Sis. Vettiest Mason at 662-803-6967, or Sis Bonnie Edwards at 662-617-4419. They will be more than happy to come and pick up any donations. Those who come will be welcomed to a hot bowl of soup.

La Leche League of Louisville

La Leche League of Louisville meets monthly on the 4th Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the County Extension Building. La Leche League offers mother-to-mother support, leaders accredited by La Leche League International, latest breastfeeding information, 24-hour telephone help, and lending library. AA Meets

Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the community house. .

Paparazzi meet

The Winston County Paparazzi on fourth Thurs of each month

The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. The meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at the MSU Extension Office in Louisville at 6pm.
