Elder James Young

Funeral services for Elder James Young, 94, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 18, 2013 at Trinity C.O.G.I.C. Pastor Fred Odom officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Garden.

A native of Louisville, Elder Young was retired and a member of Trinity C.O.G.I. C. and a veteran of World War II. He was born in Winston County March 25, 1919 and died at Pono Medical Center in East Stroudburg, PA. on Sunday, December 8, 2013.

Survivors are his wife Addie Young, of Long Pound PA.; one daughter Addie Ruth Marrow, one son Elder Robert Young of Long Pond, PA,, three brothers Olyn Young, Malcolm Young, and Leroy Young; two sisters Lula Mae Young ad Ruth Mae Brown; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Williams & Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Joyce Hampton Goodin

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Hampton Goodin, 60, were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 19, 2013 at Beaulah M. B. Church. Pastor Melvin Rush officiating. Burial followed in Depot Hill Cemetery.

A native of Dekalb Mrs. Goodin was a retired social worker and a member of Beaulah M. B. Church. She was born in Dekalb August 14, 1953 and died at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. on Sunday, December 15, 2013.

Survivors are one son Cadre Hampton, SR of Dekalb, MS two brothers Herman Hampton and Johnny Hampton both of Dekalb, MS; four grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

Williams & Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Maggie J. (Betty) Ladd

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie J. (Betty) Ladd will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Gary Sistrunk and Rev. Chris Vowell officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ladd, 85, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at her residence in the Linwood Community. She retired from Midland Shirt Factory. She was a member of Oak Ridge Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, James Ladd of Union, MS; daughters, Vivian Joann Jackson of Carthage, MS, Shelia Chesney of Decatur, MS; sons, Jimmy G. Munn of Phila, MS and Robert Gary Munn of Benson, AR; sister, Gladys Padgett of Rankin County, MS; (4) grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dennis Porter, Mike Chesney, Lavell Chesney, Nells Norris, Brad Dew and Scotty Dew.
