The Lady Wildcats of Louisville High School defended their No. 3 ranking in the state in MHSAA Class 3A with a 65-55 road win over West Point last Friday.
Tyesha Davis pumped in 30 points and also pulled down 13 rebounds to lead Louisville, while Miriah Ford scored 10 points and Kelsey Harrington notched eight points and seven rebounds. Diamond Love had eight points to go with five assets and five steals for LHS, while Tyeisha Griffin recorded six points and five assists and Latesha Yarbrough dished out a team high eight assists to help the Lady ‘Cats improve to 8-3 on the season.
The LHS boys fell to 3-5 with a 76-57 loss to West Point. The next game on the schedule has Louisville visiting Kosciusko on Jan. 7, but LHS head boys coach Hilute Hudson said that both the boys and girls will likely play Nanih Waiya sometime in early January. He said the preferred date was Jan. 3, but nothing had been confirmed.
Dontea Jones scored 12 points and had a dozen rebounds to lead LHS against West Point, while Mikal Hollingshed scored 10 and Nedarian Roberts and Roderick Jackson scored seven apiece.
