Mr. Charles Hancock

Charles Hancock, 48, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014.  He was born on September 24, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Charles W. Hancock and Patsy Anne Newton Hancock.  He was of the Pentecostal faith and a former owner and manager of Hancock Amusement Company.

Survivors include two brothers, Marshall Hancock and Roger Hancock, both of Hot Springs.

Visitation was held January 12 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hot Springs Funeral Home, 1017 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan, 14 at 11 a.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville.

Arrangements by Hot Springs Funeral Home with local services under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 N. Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS 39339.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register.

Mr. David Brown

Graveside service for Mr. David Brown were held at 11 AM Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sandtown Cemetery with Rev. John Stephens and Rev. Lawrence Pool officiating. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brown, 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Choctaw Residential Center in Choctaw, MS. He worked in retail sales and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his brothers, Terry Brown of Kansas and Donnie Brown of Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Wade Bobo, Charles Feasel, Tyrome Tank, Tony Lewis and Stan Stewart.

Mr. Jimmy Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Johnson were held at 2 PM Sunday, January 12, 2014 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Stephenstown Community. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnson, 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. He was a truckdriver. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Stephenstown Community.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Amie Alexander of Biloxi, MS; brother, William Johnson of Phila, MS; brother-in-law, Larry Collins of Noxapater, MS; (1) granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sarah Helen McGee Long

January 5, 2014

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Helen McGee Long, 84, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Ackerman United Methodist Church. Rev, Bryan Carrubba officiating. Burial followed in the Enon cemetery.

A native of Ackerman, Mrs. Long was a member of the Ackerman United Methodist Church, and was retired from the MS Employment Service. She was born in Choctaw County January 10, 1929 and died at OCH Regional Medical Center Sunday, January 5, 2014.

Survivors are one son, Joey Long of Ackerman, three grandchildren, one great grandchild.

Family suggests memorials made to Ackerman United Methodist Church.

Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alexis Delaney Swindle

Alexis Delaney Swindle, 18, passed away, on January 7, 2014, at North MS Medical Center in West Point.

She was born November 19, 1995, in West Point to  Jeannie Lynn Fields and Sean Delaney Swindle. She was a student at West Point High School. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Funeral services were January 10, 2014, at 2 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ben Yarber officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.  Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her mother Jeannie L. Fields of West Point; her father and step-Mother Sean D. Swindle of Starkville; One brother: Travis Swindle of West Point; maternal Grandmother: Minnie Fields of West Point; paternal grandmother: Ann Wilson of Louisville; Paternal step-grandmother: Dawn Swindle of New Concord, KY;

Pallbearers will be River Clemons, Stevie Hughes, Paul Bridges, J.J. Bridges, Austin Clardy, and Billy Shelton.
