AARP to meet April 11 Winston County area AARP Chapter #2859 will hold their April 11, 2012 meeting in the City Hall at 2:00 P.M. Members are asked to please be present. Noxapater Attendance Center Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration April 11-13 Noxapater Attendance Center’s registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be held April 11-13. The number of students registering for the Pre-K class at Noxapater School will determine if the class becomes available. If you have a child who will be four years of age for Pre-K and five years of age for kindergarten on or before Sept. 1, please come to the school to register them. If you are unable to come to registration on April 12, please call the school for an appointment to register. A certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record (shot record), two proofs of residency, and the child’s social security card will be needed for registration. If you do not have all of these items at registration time, you may bring them later. Spring Revival April 11-13, 7 p.m. Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church will hold its annual Spring Revival on April 11-13 beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Dr. Carpenter of Starkville. The public is invited and welcome to attend. Pastor, Rev. Concert April 13 The Browders from Hiltons, VA will be in concert at Singleton United Methodist Church (located 11 miles south of Kosciusko off Hwy 35) on Friday, April 13 at 7:00 pm. Pine Grove Spring Fling April 14 Pine Grove Spring Fling will be held Saturday April 14, 2012 beginning at 10:00 am until 3:00 PM at the church parking lot 13 miles East of Carthage or 1/2 miles from Edinburg on the right. There will be Bo Suber’s famous BBQ ribs, sold by the plate or rack starting at 11:00 until 2:00. There will be games, sweet shop and an auction. Proceeds will go to the building fund. Louisville Eagles Youth Softball Tournament April 14 The Louisville Eagles Youth Football organization will host a softball tournament on April 14 at Academy Park in Louisville. Entry fee for the tournament is $150. The first place prize is $500, the second and third place winners will receive a trophy. Also local people who have lost their home and possessions by fire. Last year the Good Samaritan horse show donated to the Salvation Army, St. Jude Hospital and Have a Heart Rescue Horses. We will have Mr. Kenneth Price with his World Champion mule, Happy Feet. There will be a mule class as well. We plan on having Mr. Price and Happy Feet put on an exhibition early on during the show. Bring your children and yourself to see this show. We will get you home early! Where could you spend $5 and see a show like this? All proceeds go to help the children of Winston County. Trail Ride set for April 21 A Trail Ride will be held on Saturday, April 21 in south Winston County. It will leave the Indian Springs church parking lot at 10 a.m. and return in 5-6 hours. Bring your sack lunch for the trail. Food will be served at the end of the ride by the ladies of Indian Springs. “If you don’t have a horse, come ride in one of the wagons with us!” The church is located at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Mt. The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project The Winston County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FESTIVAL on Sept. 29, 2012 held at the Louisville Coliseum.

Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before ( Sept. 28 ). These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC.
