Library celebrates NL week

The Winston County Public Library observed National Library Week April 8-14. The library held three programs in celebration of the week. The library topped of the week with an appreciation luncheon honoring supporters from the city officials, county officials, area state officials, Library Board of trustees, Friends of the Library, and local garden clubs. The library provided a cyber bullying seminar and a butterfly garden seminar as part of the week long celebration. The library will continue its community outreach as always throughout the year and plans several upcoming events. On April 28, the library will host its second annual Fancy Nancy Tea “Dress-Up” Party from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All young girls and young ladies are encouraged to attend. Last year the event had over 50 participants attend for the food, games and reading. The library staff hopes to have even more this year. The library will also be hosting several computer classes over the next few months. Any one interested in the classes should contact the library. Book sale planned Friends of the Library will host its Annual Book Sale Friends of the Library will hold their annual Book Sale at the Winston County Library May 3, 4, and 5. Doors will open Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to buy some books and help support the library
