ECCC Cheer squad announced Cheerleaders were recently selected for 2012-13 at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced sponsor Huellen Watson. Cheer Squad members and their respective high schools include Darrin Hillman, Sebastopol; Austin Flake and Lindsey McCool, both of Winston Academy; Mary Margaret Bailey, Philadelphia; Erica Clark, Neshoba Central; Madison Herrington, Union; Payton Smith, Scott Central; and David Williams, Madison Stringer, Heather Johnson, Alex Hollingsworth, Lindsey Ezelle, Lauren Ezelle and Jordyn Landry, all of Newton County. Maxwell Parker of Noxapater was selected Warrior Chief mascot. Auditions Set for ECCC Concert Choir, Ac’cents Auditions for prospective members of the East Central Community College Concert Choir and the Ac’cents Show Choir will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, on the Decatur campus, announced Vicki Blaylock, director. Registration is scheduled from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the Vickers Fine Arts Center. A general meeting is set for 1 p.m. and will be followed by auditions beginning at 1:15 p.m. Ac’cents members receive full tuition scholarships. ECCC Tennis Team Offers Free Lessons for Children Members of East Central Community College’s tennis teams are offering free tennis lessons to children ages 6-13 during activities scheduled Thursday, May 3, 2012, announced Coach Dianne O’Neill. Instruction for ages 6-8 begins at 4 p.m. followed by lessons for ages 9-13 at 5 p.m. on the ECCC tennis courts in Decatur. O’Neill said participants should provide tennis shoes, water bottle and tennis racket (if available). Tennis balls and water will be provided.
