The Winston County Library will host three free seminars on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) over the next three months.
A representative from Health Help Mississippi’s Starkville office will present information on ACA and answer any questions participants may have. Health Help Mississippi, which has locations in Jackson, Hattiesburg, Starkville, Hernando and Greenville, advocates on consumers’ behalf, educating them on their different options for health care, and assisting them in seeing if they could be eligible for any current government programs, such as Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act insurance program.
“All public libraries in the state have been asked by the Mississippi Library Commission to provide information sheets and websites to patrons seeking information on the ACA”, said Winston County Librarian Beth Edwards. “In addition, many libraries in the Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System are setting up public seminars for their communities, similar to the ones we are providing here in Winston County.”
ACA Seminar dates are Friday, October 18th, from 12:00 – 1:00; Tuesday, November 19th, from 12:00 – 1:00; and Tuesday, December 17th from 12:00 – 1:00. Anyone can call the library in advance or email the library with a question. Mrs. Edwards will give the questions to Health Help Mississippi prior to the seminars, so that full and complete answers can be given to participants. Contact information for the Winston County Library is 662-773-3212 (phone); 662-773-8434 (fax); or email@example.com (e-mail).
In addition to the free seminar, a free brown-bag lunch will be provided to the first 25 participants at each meeting.
