Alice Faye, 68, passed away on Feb. 26, 2014 at her home on Center Hill Lake in Smithville.
She was born Oct. 12, 1945 in Philadelphia, MS, to the proud parents, Robert and Dorothy Farish of Noxapater, MS.
She grew up on the family farm near Noxapater, MS and attended Noxapater Elementary and High Schools and graduated in 1963. Following her high school graduation, Alice Faye entered college at Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, MS, where she received her degree in Mathematics in May, 1967.
After graduation, she moved to Franklin, TN and became employed as a mathematics teacher with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. After her retirement from Nashville Public Schools, she and her family relocated from Nashville to live ful-time at their lake cabin on Center Hill Lake.
1n 1996, Alice Faye began a 15-year career with Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency where she worked in Youth Education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Bane Farish and Robert O. Farish of Noxapater, MS. Survivors include her husband Raymond Spencer Iverlett of Smithville, TN, son Raymond Neal Iverlett of Murfreesboro, TN, granddaughters Briley and Brennan Iverlett of Murfreesboro, brother R. Wayne (Helen Ruth) Farish of Tulsa, OK, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alice Faye was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Smithville, TN.
Visitation was Sat., Mar. 1 from noon until the service time at 3 pm. Interment followed at Burton-Ponder Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Smithville First United Methodist Church Youth Minister and/or the Pew Cushion Fund, PO Box 95, Smithville, TN 37166 or to Burton-Ponder Cemetery Fund, c/o Richard H. Puckett, 600 Nixon Way, Dowelltown, TN 37059. Memorials should be designated in memory of Alice Faye Farish Iverlett.
