Kicking off the fall and football season, the Winston County Chamber of Commerce has announced it will host its annual area-wide tailgate party as its monthly Third Thursday downtown sales event.
The event will include all the Winston County Football Teams. Louisville, Noxapater, Nanih Waiya and Winston Academy will introduce their coaches, football teams and cheerleaders for the upcoming season.
The event will also include several contests between quarterbacks, cheerleaders and other team members. Contest will include a passing contest and a moon pie eating contest.
“This promises to be a great time for family and friends to spend together enjoying friendly competition, talk of football and a focus on the schools and our children,” said Linda Skelton, Winston County Chamber of Commerce Director.
In addition to the tailgate event merchants will be on hand at a tent located on Columbus Ave registering students for 4- $25.00 cash and 1 – $100.00 cash prize give away. The North Gate Cinema moves tickets for the contest are courtesy of John and Carol Clark and the cash prizes are compliments of the following merchants : Market Café, The Jewel Shoppe, Becky’s Antiques, Just Teasin’, Uptown Lily at the Framin Shoppe, Mainly Music, The Silver Goose and Alderwoman Frances Ball, Brian Sims and the Winston County Chamber of Commerce/Main Street.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and school and community spirit.

The Winston County teams will start their jamboree games the following night and regular season games the week of Friday, August 23.
The Jamboree schedule is:
Nanih Waiya travels to Enterprise on August 16.
Noxapater will host Choctaw Central August 16.
Winston Academy will host a jamboree August 16
Louisville will travel to MSU to play West Point August 17.
