Business owner aims to give back with toy drive

From Press Reports

Rhonda Prisock, owner of Fantabulous Formals in Louisville, is hard at work these days. Not only with formal gown rentals and sales but in organizing a toy drive for Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.

Prisock is hosting the Mississippi Dixie Shimmer Beauty Pageant in Ackerman on November 10. She has decided this would be a perfect opportunity to do something to help the children at Batson and is asking each contestant and guest to bring at least one toy for the children’s hospital. Several of the contestants have contacted her saying that their church or work places are collecting toys for the hospital as well. One constant’s brother has decided for his birthday he wants his friends to give toys for the hospital instead of for him.

“We get so busy sometimes in the rigors of everyday life that I think we forget just how blessed we are. Some of the children at Batson will only be in the hospital for a short while and others may stay for months on end. I thought the toy drive would be just one small thing that I could do with my pageant system to give back and make these stays a little more tolerable. We are so touched by the response! My goal is to have so many toys we need to rent a U-haul to get them all delivered!” said Prisock. If you or your group is interested in donating toys for the drive contact Rhonda Prisock at 662-803-8555 or email her at She has a list of toys that are approved by the hospital and can email you that information. If you do not have time to purchase toys but would like to make a monetary donation for toys – that is accepted as well. A receipt showing the toys and games your funds purchased will be provided. After the toys are collected on pageant day, any age range with not as many toys and games as another, the monetary donation will be used to help buy for them to try to keep it as equal as possible. This is a worthy cause, we are excited to see just how many toys these beauties will collect!
