Winston Guards 2643 UDC, Capt. John M. Bradley Camp SCV and the Beauregard Rifles Children of the confederacy are having their annual Lee-Jackson Banquet Friday night, Jan. 31, at Lake Tiak O’ Khata at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Major General William Freeman of Newton, MS.
AARP tax-aide offers free help with tax returns
Get free help with tax returns! Beinning February 5, (each Wednesday and Friday through tax season) AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will assist taxpayers with their 2013 tax returns 8:45 AM – 12:45 PM at the Winston County Library.

The Friends of the Library are selling raffle tickets for a beautiful hand-crocheted bedspread made by Mrs. Thelma Ross. She donated it to Friends to be raffled as a fundraiser. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and will be drawn on February 10th, just in time for Valentines Day. The Friends are raising funds to purchase new chairs.
