Winston County Area AARP Chapter #2859 will hold their March 12 meeting in city hall at 11 a.m.  Please note the change of time.

Knitting Workshop March 15

Do you need help with Knitting or Crochet project? The Louisville “Life’s a Stitch” Group is sponsoring another workshop where you can get assistance with your current /new knitting or crocheting projects. You will need to bring your pattern, needles or hook and yarn. Kenny Evans to speak March 16

Kenny Evans will be at Bethel Baptist Church at 6 p.m. March 16.  A night of fun, music, and revival.  A love offering will be taken up.

6th Anniversary Celebration on March 16

Endtime Sanctuary, UPC located at 202 W College Street in Louisville MS will have their 6th Anniversary Celebration on March 16, 2014 beginning at 10:05 a.m. The visiting speaker will be Pastor Tony Roberts of Philadelphia, MS, whose parents, the late Rev. T. M. Roberts and Sis Roberts pastored in Louisville in the mid 60’s. A meal will be served about 12:00. Mount Cannie Missionary Baptist to have youth revival

Mount Cannie Missionary Baptist Church of Louisville will be having their Youth Revival Sunday, March 16 through Tuesday, March 18. The revival will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. The guest speaker will be Reverend Joe Glass, Pastor of Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church of Noxpater, MS. The public is invited to attend.

Book signing to be held at the library

Angie Coats will be signing her book, Real Women Rise: Take a Step Back, on March 29 at the Winston County Library.

Lay blood pressure screening training to be held

Lay blood pressure screening training will be held on Tuesday, March 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Life Center at 104 Beal Street in Louisville. Free and open to the public. Participants must register by March 11, to evangelist Maria Triplett at 662-803-5171.

Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church to hold revival

Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Louisville will be in its revival from Sunday, March 16 until Tuesday March 18.  Services will begin each night at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Mack Young of Noxapater and pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Brooksville.

Prevent Bullying workshop to be held

On March 20 the Family Center is doubling our workshop to provide information on the new PARCC Field tests.  Mrs. Tammy Parks and Mrs. Samaria Hudson will provide information on ways to Prevent Bullying from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Family Center.  Dr. Nola Bryant, Director of Assessments and Professional Development, will discuss the new PARCC Assessment from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m.  The school year, 3 grades in the LMSD have been chosen for the PARCC Field Tests.  The PARCC Field Tests will be given March 24 through April 11.

The Spokesmen will be in concert Sunday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 4109 Old Robinson road in Louisville.

Oak Grove # 2 M. B. Church taking trip to Iowa May 2

Oak Grove #2 M.B. Church will be going to Davenport IA. The Calvary Apostolic health fair will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 17 at 104 Beal Street in Louisville.

There will be a Farmer’s Market Production meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, at the Winston County Extension Office.

Winston County Red Hills Art Association’s 36th Annual Art event May 16—23

Red Hills Art Association would like businesses and individuals in our community to participate in our Purchase Awards on Thursday May 15th 11:00am until 1:00pm at Winston County Library.  We understand that we have new businesses and individuals in Winston County. Each individual or business will promise to award their ribbon to an artist and buy this art work of their choice. This day is called Purchase Award Day. Participants have first choice before the show opens to the public to buy and award an art work that has been judged by  (this year) Greg Cartmell from Meridian.

Homestead Exemption sign up April 1 deadline

The period for signing up for homestead exemption ends April 1, 2014.

If there has been any change in your deed in the past 2 years, you will need to sign a new homestead application in the tax assessor’s office.

Examples: You have married, divorced, or been widowed; you have sold or bought property; you have turned 65 or become disabled.

Airport board meeting first Monday

The Louisville-Winston County Airport Authority board announces that it will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on the first Monday of each month. Said meetings will begin at 5:30 pm and will be conducted at the City of Louisville board room, City Hall, Louisville.

 AA meets on Monday and Wednesday nights

Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the community house.

Paparazzi meet fourth Thursday of each month

The Winston County Paparazzi are meeting on fourth Thursday of each month. The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts.  La Leche League of Louisville

La Leche League of Louisville meets monthly on the 4th Saturday of each month from 1-2 p.m. at the County Extension Building. La Leche League offers mother-to-mother support, leaders accredited by La Leche League International, latest breastfeeding information, 24-hour telephone help, and lending library. Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteers have many opportunities with Sta-Home such as providing companionship to patients and caregivers, shopping for the families, light housekeeping, baking and cooking, filing and making phone calls.  Currently we are looking for volunteers ages 16 years and older with a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
