Cattlemen’s Meeting April 3

There will be a Cattlemen’s Meeting on Thursday night, April 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. at the Winston County Extension Office.
This is a supper meeting so please call in by noon on April 2nd to reserve your spot. 773-3091.


April is “Testing Information/Graduation Options and Free Health Fair” month at the Family Center. The workshop will inform parents about new testing events and graduation options in our district. The Free Health Fair, opened to the public, will offer different medical screenings and valuable health information. Come and be apart of our informative workshops!

East Louisville Baptist Church will host a yard sale on Saturday, April 5 from 7 a.m. until in the church parking lot.

Greensboro Day

Saturday, April 5, 2014

Families and Friends of the Greensboro Community will celebrate Greensboro Day on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Greensboro Day will offer activities and entertainment for the entire family. Come and enjoy music, singing, and great food. For children, inflatable jumpers, face painting, and sporting activities will be available. The celebration will include a Greensboro’s Community Parade. We need families and friends to participate in the parade. You can walk, ride, push or pull a vehicle in the parade.

We will assemble at 9:00 a.m. on the corner of Greensboro Road and Major Brown Road. The parade will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. Come to Greensboro Day at Frank Taylor’s Place, 1973 Greensboro Road on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is an event you will not want to miss. Greensboro C.M.E. Church to host program

Greensboro C.M.E. Church and Rev. Carl Swanigan will be hosting a missionary program on April 6 at 3 p.m. Evangelist Debbie Lee of Mt. Pleasant #2 will be the guest speaker.

Bethel M.B. Church to host spring revival

The Bethel M. B. Church family will be hosting spring revival services April 6 through April 8. Services will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 6 and at 7 p.m. the remaining nights. The guest speaker will be Rev. Willie James Matthews Pastor of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Tupelo.

Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church to host youth revival

Pleasant Ridge M.B. Church of Noxapater will be having their youth revival Sunday, April 6 through Tuesday, April 8. Services will begin each night at 7 p.m. The guest minister will be Rev. Anthony Thames, Pastor of Oak Grove #2 M.B. Church of Louisville.

GTCWRT to meet April 8

The Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table will meet Tuesday evening, April 8, at 7:30 p.m., at Simrall Hall Auditorium (Rm. 100) on the MSU campus in Starkville. The public is invited to attend this event of local historical interest. The speaker will be retired historian from the Vicksburg National Military Park, Terrance Winschel; his topic is “Stephen D. Lee and the Making of an American Shrine.” Stephen D. Lee may be best known in this area as the first President of Mississippi A & M College (now MSU.)

TRIAD to hold meeting Winston County

East Louisville to host pancake supper

East Louisville Baptist Church will host a pancake supper and singing on Saturday, April 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center. The menu will include pancakes (plain, pecan, and blueberry), biscuits, sausage, gravy and fruit toppings. Donations accepted and all proceeds will go to benefit adding air conditioning to the gym. Relay to host bunko night

Relay for Life Bunko will be held April 24th at the Winston County Hospital Cafeteria. Food, fun, and refreshments will be had by all. Bunko will be from 6:30 – 8:30. Register with Carol McAdory at 662-803-4257 to participate. T-shirts will be available also. To play and get a t-shirt will cost $25. Just to play and eat will be $15. Door prizes will be given away also. The deadline for t-shirts is April 3. If you just want to play and eat, you can register up until that day provided space is still available. Brushfork M.B. Church to host spring revival

Brushfork M.B. Church will host Spring Revival on April 23rd- 25th at 7:30 pm nightly. Guest Speaker will be Rev. Stephen Daniels from Shiloh M.B. Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. Song service will be rendered by the Caldwell Singers from West Point on Thursday night and the Crowns of Joy from Phebe on Friday night.

Child Passenger Safety class May 7-9

On May 7-9, there will be a Child Passenger Safety Tech Class held at the City of Louisville Fire Department. Instructor Brad Williams will be teaching the class. The class will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. each day. If anyone is interested in this class they can sign up online. There is an $85 course fee. The Calvary Apostolic health fair will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 17 at 104 Beal Street in Louisville.

Red Hills Art Association’s 36th Annual Art Competition May 16–23, 2014

Red Hills Art Association would like businesses and individuals in our community to participate in our Purchase Awards on Thursday May 15th 11:00am until 1:00pm at Winston County Library. We understand that we have new businesses and individuals in Winston County. Each individual or business will promise to award their ribbon to an artist and buy this art work of their choice.
