Library to celebrate National Library Week

Dr. Jeff Wilson will host a gardening program at the Winston County Library on Wednesday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dr. Wilson is a horticulturalist with the MSU Extension office.

Easter Holy Week Services to be held

South Louisville Baptist Church will host Holy Week services April 14 through April 18. The services will begin at 12 noon each day.

Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church to host Spring Revival

The Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church Spring Revival will be held on April 16­18, 2014 at 7 p.m nightly. The guest evangelist will be Dr. Gregory Jones of Elbernezer M.B. Church of Starkville, MS. The Public is invited to to attend services. Pastor Rev. Donald Bryant.

Friends of the Noxubee Refuge to host spring meeting

The Friends of Noxubee Refuge will hold their spring General Membership Meeting on Thursday April 17 at 6:30 in the Refuge Visitor Center. Dr. Rick Kaminski will present The Migratory Bird Habitat Initiative and Where have all the Mallards Gone?
Quarterly meetings of the Friends of Noxubee Refuge are free and open to the public. A social time with refreshments will follow.

Good Friday Prayer and Song Program to be held

A Good Friday Prayer and Song program, sponsored by Claudell Weaver, Dean Park Commissioner of District 2 will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, April 18 at Dean Park located on highway 15 south in the Center Ridge Community. The reason for the program is to celebrate the death and rise of Jesus. Please attend and lend your voices in prayer for our Nation, State, Cities and Towns, Schools and Work Places, Families and Communities.

United Ministry to host bake sale

The Winston County United Ministry will hold its annual Bake Sale on Friday, April 18, beginning at 7 a.m. in front of Tabor Drugs. The proceeds will go to support the Ministry and Cornerstone Clinic.

Mt. Olive to host Good Friday celebration

There will be a Good Friday fellowship and celebration at the Mt. Olive Bethel Harmony Association building from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, April 18. New Life Apostolic church to host fundraiser

Friends of Noxubee Refuge to host canoe day

The Friends of Noxubee Refuge will hold a canoe day on Bluff Lake on Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Canoes, kayaks, life jackets and paddles will be available free of charge. Center Ridge M.B. Church to host revival

Center Ridge M.B. Church will be having their Spring Revival, Sunday, April 20 through Thursday, April 24. Services will begin at 7:30 nightly.
The guest minister will be Dr. Lewis Harris, Pastor of Chapel Hill M.B. Church of Ethel.

April is “Free Health Fair” month at the Family Center

The Free Health Fair opened to the public and will offer different medical screenings and valuable health information.
Come and be apart of this informative workshop on April 23 at the Family Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Relay to host bunko night

Relay for Life Bunko will be held April 24th at the Winston County Hospital Cafeteria.
Food, fun, and refreshments will be had by all. Bunko will be from 6:30- 8:30. Register with Carol McAdory at 662-803-4257 to participate. T-shirts will be available also. To play and get a t-shirt will cost $25. Just to play and eat will be $15. Door prizes will be given away also.
The deadline for t-shirts is April 3. If you just want to play and eat, you can register up until that day provided space is still available. All proceeds from this Bunko will go to Winston County Relay for Life. If there are any businesses that would like to donate an item for the door prizes, please contact Carol McAdory.

Brushfork M.B. Church to host spring revival

Brushfork M.B. Church will host Spring Revival on April 23rd-25th at 7:30 pm nightly. Guest Speaker will be Rev. Stephen Daniels from Shiloh M.B. Church in St Paul, Minnesota. Song service will be rendered by the Caldwell Singers from West Point on Thursday night and the Crowns of Joy from Phebe on Friday night.

Kids N Kats Fishing Rodeo to be held

Scheduled for May 3, 2014 with registration beginning at 7 am., the Rodeo will be from 7­ 11 am at Legion State Park Lake. Children ages 15 and under are invited to participate. Please bring your own poles, bait and tackle. Each child must be accompanied by an adult or parent and each adult is expected to assist the child in registration and sign the necessary forms. Door prizes will be given. Hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks will be served.

Child Passenger Safety class May 7-9

On May 7-9, there will be a Child Passenger Safety Tech Class held at the City of Louisville Fire Department. Instructor Brad Williams will be teaching the class. The class will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. each day. If anyone is interested in this class they can sign up online. There is an $85 course fee. The Annual Spring Fling will be held Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the church grounds.
