Youth Revival to be held

Friendship M.B. Church will host a youth revival beginning on Monday, April 28 through Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. each night.
The speaker will be Rev. Ken Ashford, Pastor of Finding Your Way through Christ Ministries, of Starkville, MS. Again, we are looking forward to having you worship with us during this Holy Spirit Event.

REPM to meet

The REPM will meet at City Hall at 1 p.m., May 1. Guest speakers will be legislators that serve Winston County. A love offering will be taken up for Winston County Crime Stoppers.

Baptist Association to host National Day of Prayer event

The Winston County Baptist Association will be celebrating National Day of Prayer at First Baptist Church in Louisville on Thursday, May 1 at 12 pm.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friends of the Library will hold a book sale May 1-3 at the Winston County Library. Doors will open from Thursday through Friday 8:30 a.m. -6:00 p.m. and Sat. 8:30-11 a.m. Come join us, buy some books and help support your local library.

Oak Grove # 2 M. B. Church taking trip to Iowa May 2

Oak Grove #2 M.B. Church will be going to Davenport IA. Little Calvary Church to host fish fry and fun

Little Calvary Church building fund committee will be hosting an afternoon of entertainment and fun at 4 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at Taylor Union Hall. There will be an auction, cake walk, bake sale, fashion show, fish fry, and a talent show. For more information call 256-740-7708.

World Outreach Church to host fundraiser

Kids N Kats Fishing Rodeo to be held

Scheduled for May 3, 2014 with registration beginning at 7 a.m., the Rodeo will be from 7­ 11 am at Legion State Park Lake. Children ages 15 and under are invited to participate. Please bring your own poles, bait and tackle. Each child must be accompanied by an adult or parent and each adult is expected to assist the child in registration and sign the necessary forms. Door prizes will be given. Hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks will be served.

Memorial Services will be held May 4 at Liberty Baptist Church. Cemetery meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m., Worship at 11 a.m. and lunch at 12 p.m.

Child Passenger Safety class May 7-9

On May 7-9, there will be a Child Passenger Safety Tech Class held at the City of Louisville Fire Department. Instructor Brad Williams will be teaching the class. The class will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. each day. If anyone is interested in this class they can sign up online. There is an $85 course fee. The annual Memorial Day at Beth-Eden Lutheran Church will be held Sunday, May11 at 11 a.m. There will be a covered dish dinner following the worship service. The Beth-Eden Cemetery committee will meet on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the church.

Pre-Mother’s Day Gospel Explosion to be held

Douglas Burton Family Benefit to be held

A benefit for the Douglas Burton family will be held Saturday, May 10 from 8 a.m. until at the Louisville Coliseum. Please bring your family out for a fun filled day! There will be live music, pony rides, a cake walk, face painting, jumpers and slides, a ring toss, and a cars/trucks/motorcycles show. The auction will begin 4 p.m. Guns and gas cards will be given away at 4 p.m. Any donation to the auction or baked good for the cake walk would be greatly appreciated. There will be hamburger and hotdog plates too. All proceeds will go to the Douglas Burton family to help pay for medical expenses. Red Hills Art Association’s 36th Annual Art Competition May 16—23, 2014

Red Hills Art Association would like businesses and individuals in our community to participate in our Purchase Awards on Thursday May 15th 11 am until 1 pm at Winston County Library. We understand that we have new businesses and individuals in Winston County. Each individual or business will promise to award their ribbon to an artist and buy this art work of their choice. Pine Grove Church of God-­Edinburg to host spring fling

The Annual Spring Fling will be held Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the church grounds. Bo Surber’s famous BBQ ribs (plates or racks) will be available at 11 a.m. A sweet shop with a huge variety of desserts will also be available.
