Child Passenger Safety class
On May 7-9, there will be a Child Passenger Safety Tech Class held at the City of Louisville Fire Department. Instructor Brad Williams will be teaching the class. The class will start at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. each day. If anyone is interested in this class they can sign up online. There is an $85 course fee. Winston County Disaster Relief Concert to be held
A Winston County Disaster Relief Concert will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 10 at the Catfish Opry in Noxapater. Special Guests include Sean Greer, Ben Johns, Mark Goldbeck, Bobby Orr, The Wells Brothers, and special guest Steve Blaze of Lillian Axe playing with Jason Stewart, Paul Wells, Jason Williams, Mike Brewer, Eddie Yarbrough, Joey Estes, and Micah Rueber. Admission is $10 for concert and $20 for concert and dinner. All other donations such as canned goods, water, and clothing will be accepted. All proceed will go to the Winston County Disaster Relief.
Douglas Burton Family Benefit to be held
A benefit for the Douglas Burton family will be held Saturday, May 10 from 8 a.m. until at the Louisville High School. Please bring your family out for a fun filled day! There will be live music, pony rides, a cake walk, face painting, jumpers and slides, a ring toss, and a cars/trucks/motorcycles show. The auction will begin 4 p.m. Guns and gas cards will be given away at 4 p.m. Any donation to the auction or baked good for the cake walk would be greatly appreciated. There will be hamburger and hotdog plates too. All proceeds will go to the Douglas Burton family to help pay for medical expenses. Bethel Methodist Church Memorial to be held
The annual memorial service at Bethel Methodist Church will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Sunday May 25. The service will be conducted by Tommie Joe Wylie of Louisville. This is the only scheduled event at the old country church on Sharp Road in the Chestnut Grove community, where Oktibbeha, Choctaw, and Winston Counties merge. This year is the 140th anniversary of the founding of Bethel Methodist Church and the 145th anniversary of the founding of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
