DARE Graduation to be held

The DARE graduation will be held at 9 a.m., April 17 at the Louisville Elementary School.

Ribbon cutting/ dedication

April 28th at 10:00 for the Ribbon Cutting of the new hospital.  

Get Checked, Be Healthy workshop to be held

The Family Center will host a workshop called “Get Checked, Be Healthy.” March is “Health Awareness” month at the Family Center. The Free Health Fair is opened to the public and will offer different medical screenings such as blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and eye pressure checks. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., March 22 at the Family Center located at the Fair Elementary building D. Call 662-773-4018 for more information.

Eagles sign up

The Louisville Eagles Youth Cheerleaders and Football Players will be signing up at Ivy Park Pavilion from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., March 17. Calvary Baptist Church to host revival

Calvary Baptist Church located at 4109 Old Robinson Rd. in Louisville will have revival services March 26 through 30 (Sunday through Thursday). Sunday morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with evening services beginning at 6:30 p.m. Evening services Monday through Thursday will begin at 7 p.m. Evangelist Dennis Duvall will bring the message and Evangelist John Yates will lead the music.

Faith beyond walls to host revival

Faith Beyond Walls Christian Center will be hosting revival services Wednesday, March 29 through Saturday, April 1. The Center is located at 95 Odie Sheilds Rd in Louisville.

Building Fund Rummage Sale

Mars Hill Cemetery, Winston County

AARP Tax Service

AARP Tax Service will provide free help with taxes to people.  They will be at the Winston County Library every Wednesday from 9:00am – 2:00pm beginning Wednesday, February 8 – Wednesday, April 5.  They will also be available at the library on Tuesday, April 18, which is the last day to file taxes this year.

La Leche League meeting  4th Sat. each month

La Leche League of Louisville meets monthly on the 4th Saturday of each month from 1-2 p.m. at the County Extension Building. La Leche League offers mother-to-mother support, leaders accredited by La Leche League International, latest breastfeeding information, 24-hour telephone help, and lending library. Red Hills Photo Club

4th Thursday

The Winston County Paparazzi are meeting on fourth Thursday of each month. The Red Hills Photo Club is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. The meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at the MSU Extension Office in Louisville at 6pm and are open to everyone. Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. on at East Louisville Baptist Choir Room.

Master Gardeners of Winston County

The Master Gardeners would like to enlist the help of the citizens of Winston County for candidates for the Yard of the Month.  They will be looking for aesthetically pleasing yards. AARP to meet

The Winston County Area AARP will hold their monthly meeting at 1 p.m., February 8 at City Hall. Members are asked to please be present and on time. Dues wil also be collected at the meeting.

Military Mama’s network

There is a new group starting in Winston County called Military Mama’s network. This group will be not only a support group for our military mama’s but also our military people. Fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandma’s, grandpa’s and cousins too can all join. We just asked that you fully support our military. We will send care packages from home, cards, letters, and will offer aid to the home front where and when we can. The first meeting will be March 18th at 5:30 at City Hall. Fish fry fundraiser

There is a fish fry fundraiser for Lia Shrock. She is a young six year old who was diagnosed with malignant PNET brain tumor. The Fry will be from  5 to 8 pm march 17th. It will be held at Magnolia Christian School, 3355 Magnolia Drive, Macon, MS 39341. Contact (662) 361-0416 for more information. All proceeds will be for the Schrock family.

Fundraiser for Haiti Mission Trip!

Trinity Church of God in Christ to host pastor appreciation

Trinity Church of God in Christ  located at 706 Winston Street Louisville will be hosting a pastor and wife’s appreciation day on March 19 at 2 p.m. Elder Billy Haynes will be the speaker.

Spring revival to be held

Covenant Baptist Church (4287 Hwy. 407 French Camp) will be hosting a spring revival March 20 through 24 beginning at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Howard Goolsby.

Trail ride event

A Trail Ride will be held on Saturday, April 1st in south Winston County. It will leave the Indian Springs church parking lot at 10 a.m. and return in 4½-6 hours. Bring your sack lunch for the trail. Food will be served at the end of the ride by the ladies of Indian Springs.

The church is located at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Mt. Calvary Church Rd.

EFSP Grant Reallociation

Phase 33 Funds for the Emergency Food and Shelter Grant for Winston County has been reallocated to Destined To Reign Ministries. On Thursdays, beginning April 16th you can call from 12 noon until 2 PM to schedule an appointment to see if you qualify. The number is (662) 736-2852. These funds will be used to assist those who need emergency assistance with utilities rent, and mortgage.

Canoe Day  

Canoeing will be held on Noxubee Refuge’s Bluff Lake on Saturday March 18 from 9 am until 3 pm.  Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be available free of charge.  Call 323-5548 for more information.

Beautification Day  

A beautification day is set for Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dean Park. all volunteers inthe area are asked to participate in a spring cleaning of the park.
