Granite Works ribbon cutting June 8 Mississippi Granite Works will host a ribbon cutting and public tours of its new facility at on 358 Bond Road in Louisville on June 8 at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited to come out and see one of the newest businesses in the community.

Hamm Reunion June 9, 10 a.m. James and Margarett Hamm Reunion will be June 9 at Macedonia Baptist Church Life Center from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Come bring a dish and enjoy the fellowship.

Vacation Bible School June 10 Crystal Ridge Baptist Church Vacation Bible School will begin on June 10 and end on June 15. Children the ages of 3 to 12 are invited to attend. Start time will be at 6 p.m and will end at 8 p.m. every evening.

Welcome Chapel Pentecostal Church June 10 Memorial Services at Welcome Chapel Pentecostal Church Sunday June 10, 2012. Service will begin at 10:00 A.M. with, Pastor Sister Minnie Dempsey bring the Message. The church is located West of Louisville off Hwy 14, to the right on Welcome Chapel Road, watch for sign. Indian Springs Homecoming June 10 Indian Springs Assembly of God will have Homecoming and Memorial Service on Sunday June 10. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with dinner on the grounds at noon. The morning speaker will be Rev. Gerald Branum, Missionary to Western Europe. There will be featured singers during the service. You are welcome to come enjoy the worship and fellowship. The church is located at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Mt. Calvary Church Rd., 12 miles south of Louisville or 6 miles north of Hwy. 19.

Brushfork M.B. Church June 10, 11 a.m. Brushfork M.B.Church at 28 Hwy 14 East in Macon invites the public to worship with them every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School, 11 a.m. for Worship Service, and every Wednesday at 6 p.m.for Bible Study. On June 10 for Worship Service, Sis Barbara Eichelberger will deliver the message. Sis. Eichelberger is a seminary student with International Seminary. The pastor is Rev. Robert Avant.

Mt. Zion June 10 event The annual homecoming for Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church will be Sunday, June 10 at 11:00. Guest speaker will be Reverend Owen Gordon, Jr. A potluck lunch will be at the Panhandle Community Center following the service.

Memorial Service June 10, 11 a.m. Calvary Baptist Church, 4109 Old Robinson Road in Louisville will have Memorial Services on June 10 at 11 a.m., with Dr. Paul Blanchard bringing the message, followed by a covered dish lunch in fellowship hall.

Homeownership meeting June 12 To celebrate June as being National Homeownership month the Starkville Rural Development local office will host an open house on Tuesday, June 12 in the USDA Service Center (located at 510 Hwy 25 N., Starkville, from 9:00am until 2:00pm.

Flag Ceremony June 14, 5 p.m. There will be a flag ceremony at Legion State Park at 5 p.m. at the Lodge. Anyone interested in helping preserve the park for future generations is invited.

Invitation to Refuge Birthday Social June 14 The Fish and Wildlife Service, Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge invites the public and Friends of Noxubee Refuge to join Refuge staff in a social celebration on June 14, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at the Visitor Center. This celebration is of the anniversary of the establishment of Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge on June 14, 1940, 72 years ago. Class of 1982 reunion set for Sept. 7 The Louisville Class of 1982 will be celebrating its 30th year Class Reunion the weekend of September 7, 2012. AA Meets Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. beginning the first week of January 2012 on the second floor of the community house. Meetings until then will still take place on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity items for sale Winston County Habitat for Humanity has signed Gail Pittman Christmas ornaments and plates for sale at the Silver Goose and Habitat cookbooks for sale at the Winston County Library. The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project

The Winston County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. Summer Feeding Program The Louisville Municipal School District will soon start their Summer Feeding Program, which provides free meals to all children 18 years of age and under (or persons 19 and over who are mentally or physically disabled and participating in a public or private nonprofit school program for the mentally or physically disabled.) Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m.—8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. at the follwing locations: Eiland Middle School, Monday—Friday, June 4-29. Nanih Waiya and Noxapater schools, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 16-26. Louisville High School, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 9-31.

Class of 1987 reunion upcoming The time has come to celebrate of the Louisville High School 25th reunion. The event is scheduled for Nov. 23,24, and 25 which is Thanksgiving weekend. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FEST on Sept. 29, held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before. These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC. Check out the website for a peek of just a few of the artists.
