Book signing set for Aug. 18 The Winston County Library will host a book signing by local author Frances Ball for her new book Front Porch Connection. The book gives stories and tidbits of her 75-years in Winston County. The signing will be held at the Winston County Library on Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $15. All are invited to come visit with Ball and family and friends. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FEST on Sept. 29, held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before.
These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC.
