Virginia natives Sarah and Savannah Church of the Church Sisters will be performing at Winston County’s Annual Carl Jackson “Home for Christmas” concert on December 14, 2013.
Sarah and Savannah Church’s musical careers began in March of 2007 when they won WAKG Rising Stars talent competition. After winning their phones began ringing with requests for performances at churches, theatres, and festivals.
Seth Church, the Church Sisters’ brother, performs alongside them playing lead guitar. He is an award-winning guitarist who recently played at Merle-Fest.
The Church Sisters have been traveling all over the United States performing with Rhonda Vincent, Brandon Heath, Carl Jackson, Larry Cordle, Jerry Salley, and Tony Rice. Recently, the girls garnered a presidential performance alongside their band in Roanoke, VA. The Church Sisters have also been working with Nashville country music stars “Joey and Rorey” on various projects over the last year.
The Church Sisters have also made TV appearances on “Larry’s Country Diner,” “The Joey and Rorey Show,” and “Country’s Family Reunion.”
The girls have released two albums “Farther Along” and “There’s You.” The pair was also included on an album by Grammy award winning singer, songwriter, and producer, Carl Jackson. The album is named “Mark Twain Words and Music” and includes renowned recording artists such as Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, and Jimmy Buffett.
The 17 Annual Carl Jackson’s “Home for Christmas” benefit concert will be held on Saturday, December 14.
The concert will also include all the fan favorites for the event as well. Carl Jackson will be in concert with Nashville’s Jerry Salley, Larry Cordle, Valerie Storey, Bradley Walker, Johnny Rawls, and comedian Lonnie Shorr.
State Senator Giles Ward will serve as Master of ceremonies and among the audience along with family and friends will be two Mississippi Congressman.
