The Winston County Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its summer membership recruitment campaign, and it is hoping to capture all the county’s business owners’ attention.
With the economy slowly recovering, chamber officials are optimistic they will find companies willing to join the chamber and support the positive impact it makes on the community.
The business organization has started reaching out to companies throughout the area with help of volunteers, chamber board members and through phone calls, mailed invitations and emails.
“Exciting things are going in Winston County and we are inviting everyone to become a part of it through the Chamber,” said Linda Skelton, Winston County Chamber Director.
The Chamber through its membership supports bring the community such events as Red White and Blue Parade, Sip and Shop (July 19), Red Hills Festival, Stew Stomp, and many more events. The chamber also supports businesses with beautification projects in the community and providing information on the community to all.
“Sometimes a member may not see the direct impact or affect on their business yet all of our efforts have an indirect positive impact on all business and parts of the community,” said Skelton.
Skelton explained how the Chamber consistently works to make the community more attractive to visitors and those in the community.
“Our efforts add to the quality of life in our community,” said Skelton. She noted that the Chamber design committee helped place the flowers downtown which ads to the beauty of the area.
“Your dues make these things happen,” said Skelton. “None of these events just happen. We work hard to hold festivals and bring in other events,”
“Come and visit our chamber,” said Skelton.
The Chamber is located at 311 W. Park St in Louisville. Those interested in supporting the community as a chamber member may contact 662-773-3921 to learn more or stop by and one of the friendly staff will help you.
