The Winston County Economic Development Partnership through the Winston County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Veterans’ Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 1.
The festival will feature an 11 a.m. Veterans’ Parade and program, 5K color run, 5 member team bed race, Tricycle color race, entertainment, arts, crafts, food, and venders.
The Veterans’ parade in honor of the upcoming Veterans’ day will commence at 11 a.m. as Veterans from across the county march and ride from the Winston County Chamber building to the monument in downtown Louisville.
“This is an opportunity to join together as a proud community to honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice,” said Linda Skelton, Chamber director.
The 5K color run sponsored by the Louisville Fire Department Fire Association will begin at 8 a.m. and give all the participants a chance to enjoy a 5K race full of colorful fun with race proceeds helping the Louisville Fire Department Fire Association. The 5K color run is $25 for individual or $100 for group of 6 plus team.
In addition to the color run a children’s tricycle color race is also set. The event is $10 per child for children between the ages of 4-8. The Louisville Fire Department Fire Association also sponsors this event.
Part of the entertainment will be a bed race. The Bed race is $50 per 5-member team with a grand prize available to the winner. The bed race will begin at 10:30 a.m. and participants must be 18 years of age or older. Twin or full size beds only. To pre-register for this event contact Jill at 662-705-1428.
