District _ Supervisor Mike Peterson began the event with a welcome, as well as recognizing all the students attending, and congratulating them on being the top students of their classes. Peterson also mentioned the event was in conjunction with the Council Government breakfast held once a month at the lake.

The crowd was then greeted by Noxapater Mayor Sammy Carter, who also extended his well wishes to the students in the room. The invocation was delivered before the breakfast by Senator Giles Ward.

After a quick breakfast, the students were given words of encouragement by Louisville Mayor Will Hill. The event was attended by Valedictorians, Salutatorians, and Honor Students from Grace Christian School, Louisville High School, Nanih Waiya Attendance Center, Noxapater Attendance Center, and Winston Academy.
