Cole attends Jamboree

From press reports

Samuel Cole of Louisville recently attended Boy Scout National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Scouting Reserve in West Virginia, the new permanent home of the National Scout Jamboree. The National Jamboree is held once every four years and brings together Boy Scouts from across the nation and other countries. This year, more than 40,000 Scouts attended the week-long event that featured high-adventure activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing, BMX biking, zip-line canopy tours, and special guests such as His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, multi-platinum rock band Three Doors Down, as well as television star and Eagle Scout Mike Rowe.

Samuel has been a Boy Scout since he was six years old and celebrated his 14th birthday while at Jamboree. He currently holds the rank of Life Scout and is Senior Patrol Leader of Boy Scout Troop #5 of Louisville. He attended Jamboree with other members of the Pushmataha Area Council of Boy Scouts who made up Jamboree Troop C-429.

Samuel wants to extend a special note of thanks to local individuals and businesses who sponsored and supported him in attending this special event. He is the son of Alicia Cole and Shannon Cole, grandson of Travis and Bobbie Holder and Paula Cole and the late Sammie Cole, and great-grandson of Bobbye Cole and LaVelle McCully, all of Louisville.
