This past July, the 2012 MAIS (Mississippi Association of Independent Schools) Football Fab 15 was selected, and Winston Academy’s own Orien Dailey was one of those players.
Dailey, who is a 6 foot, 185 pound senior, was chosen on July 8 for the honor. The Football Fab 15 recognizes some of the best players in the state, similar to the Dandy Dozen honor.
Dailey plays on both sides of the ball, wide receiver and defensive back. Last season Dailey had 46 receptions for 960 yards and eight touchdowns according to Maxpreps.com. he also had 43 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.
Dailey also held the #1 receiver spot in the MAIS Class AA at the end of last season, and received an invitation to attend the Schuman’s National Under Classmen Five Star Showcase held this past March in Louisiana.
When asked of his selection to the Fab 15, Dailey stated “it was an honor and privilege to be chosen for such a prestigious title”. Dailey is hoping that the honor will further his chances of competing on the collegiate level after graduation.
You can see Dailey and his talents this upcoming Friday as the Winston Academy Patriots travel to play Manchester Academy in division play. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
